http://www.nbc15.com/home/headlines/83474957.html?storySection=story According to this report (which goes way back to 2010 with regular updates), he and several other teachers, received some emails with "adult content". He got fired while other teachers were only suspended. His lawyers successfully proved that he received a harsher punishment because of his ties to the union. It was his first offense. He didn't commit a crime. He wasn't convicted of anything. He's not a registered sex offender. There were no parent complaints about him. He didn't look at porn around the kids. There were no accusations that he ever tried to do anything inappropriate to a student. He received a few pornographic emails.... something I would imagine everyone here is also guilty of. In the HuffPost article comments section, you'll even find the parents of his students defending him: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/02/andrew-harris-teacher-who_n_1317517.html Is this really a story worthy of making national news? The more I read about the case, the more convinced I am that this is just typical anti-union, republican hysteria.
I remember my Econ teacher getting fired for watching porn. The rest of the year we had a substitute teach us economics. Pretty much no one learned a thing besides some basics.
