okay so i am 4 weeks into flowering. I have my plant under 150 or so fluroescent spiral lights. I Have a mix of day lights and soft whites. My was topped once early on and it split into 2 branches. So now i have a tall branch and a short branch (like the mail branches or colas). The shorter branch has a lot more bud on it and alot more sugar for some reason and it looks a lot nicer. The taller one is tall with smaller popcorn buds on it and less sugar. Why is my plant doin this? is this normal? what should i do?
maybe moving the daylight bulbs over to the taller skinnier main branch will make it bud more? because the shorter on has been under the day lights? i dont know people please help me
my plant is about 4 weeks into flowering but it doesnt seem like the buds want to grow. They are extremely hairy and coated in sugar very nicely but they are small in size. They have been small for awhile and i was wondering if they are going to get bigger? and why its taking so long could it be the strain? or am i doin something wrong? or is buds the size of nickles normal at this stage
The size of nickels sounds pretty good (to me, i havent reached the flower stage yet in my 1st grow). You should get a microscope to look at the trichs to see if they're ready for harvest.
you still got a little ways to go I think your just be a little over cautious, not that theres anything wrong with that
deff not time to harvest im only 4 weeks into flowering....ill probably let it go a nother 7-8 weeks or until the buds start juicing up
Could be a million reasons why your buds are small. Here's some factors that may affect the overall growth. PH - if it's way off, your plant will suffer from nute lockout SOIL - if your soil is crap, then your plant will most likely suffer LIGHT PLACEMENT - If the CFLS are too far away, then the growth and overall yield will suffer - Plants flower best under red spectrum light - you can have some blue spectrum CFLS also, as long as you have more of the reds. POT SIZE - basic rule - bigger pot = bigger plant = more roots = bigger buds etc., etc., etc. Pix is always helpful. . . .
okay so im going to test my ph sometime soon....what should the ph level be on? also nute lockout is what? i have been using bloom booster and all purpose plant food MIRACLE GRO brand. what should i use for fertz?
Nute lockout is when your PH is either too low or too high and then certain nutrients that the plant needs will not get taken up by the plant. It doesn't even matter if you feed the plant, because the plant will not be able to use those nutrients. Often, people will only make it worse by feeding more if they have nute lockout to begin with. For soil, you'll be fine if it's somewhere around 6.5.
It depends on your soil also, because some soil already has nutes in it, and some soil doesn't. Both those fertz that you're using will work, but if somebody wants a 100% healthy plant, regardless of which nutes they use, it's a good idea to check the PH of the water runoff after every feeding, to keep the PH of the soil in check. Using too much chemical nutes can lead to salt build up also, which might require flushing the plant. If the PH is too low, it can be adjusted up, and if it's too high, it can be adjusted down.
wait a minute, did you say you have your plants under 150 OR SO CFLs? As in there are actually 150 light bulbs or they are 150 watt equivalent? If its the first one, hows your electrical bill?
I read up on a lot of strains when I wanted to grow good seeds and i found that there are many plants whose bud sizes like double in the last few weeks of flowering so i would check all you could but then just let'em grow. Theres always the next time. Good luck F.Y.I. Stonehenge is tha fuckin shit
