Hello everyone heres my situation.. my friend and i want to grow indoors for the winter.. the problem is that were both 19 years old and live with are parents so we cant grow in are houses.. he has a lot of woods on his property and i have a plastic shed in my garage that has not been built yet. so we came up with the idea of digging down enough so the bottom half is underground and the top half is out of ground (we dont want it to be visable) so were gonna figure out a way to cover the top later. i no were going to need a ventilation system and insilate it. i have a heater but im not sure if it is good for this. i have grown before so i no what to do as far as that if anyone has any ideas or suggestions please feel free to comment. neeeed hellpp so please do p.s what is the highest yielding indoor strain? thanks everyone
He actually has a real nice tree house his dads a builder it has power so i figure we would just run cords to it
Electric heater + extension cords = popped fuses all day long......BAD IDEA Ps don't you think your parents would see a cord randomly going into the woods at some point in your grow.
the tree house is kind of far away from is house itself his parents are kinda old and they never go back there
fuckin do it then no hesitation! your idea sounds great, but pulling it off will take much more time and effort than you expect. Good luck.
Ok you can still do that in the same box. But if your set on the underground shed then you should tap in the power wire running out to the tree house. If you can't do that then there no way you should try this cause you won't be able to keep power going cause of popping fuses. from the dungeon
Get your shed set up, and then see what's up from there. Just putting the shed up will take a long time, depending on how often you can go back there without having to worry about ANYONE seeing you.
Will be fun to watch this progression if you get this going properly, make a journal if you do this grow please!
Do you have any equipment.Lights, fans ect....how many plants do you plan on growing? Be prepaired to spend some money.
I hate to rain on your parade but, I would drag the heater and a toaster out to your tree house, plug them in, and see if you blow a fuse. You're going to have voltage drop through an extension cord. You'll also need a good quality cord, the thicker the cord the less voltage drop you'll have. i'll do a quick calc with a 12g cord. Let's assume you're running 300ft of cord to your spot. Heater =1000w Light =400w fan =60w other lights/shit= 300w So the outlet on the outside of your house has other shit associated with the circuit like maybe your outside lights, or some lights/ outlets inside your house, thats the 300w. We'll also assume it's on a 15a breaker. P=IV, so in ideal conditions with 120v and a 15a breaker we can use 1800w, however in the industry we use the 80% rule since FLA (full load amps) are only designed for a 3 hour period, otherwise temps rise and breakers go pop. So based on this 80% rule we are down to 1440w. As you can see, we have already exceeded the capacity with the numbers I gave above, heater+light+fan+misc=1760w. Now with 300ft of cord we can assume a 9-10% drop in voltage along the run so you are getting 108-110v instead of 120. Rework this into ohms law from before: P=IV 1460(misc lights not effected by drop) =I(110) This will draw 13.3A. Now add in for the misc shit 300=I(120) = 2.5A That's 15.7AMPS on the circuit, so you'll be poping the breaker all the time, you would need to pull power from two seperate circuits, not 2 outlets (since they can be on the same circuit) Hope this makes sense, i'd hate to see you build the space and find out you can't power it.
