  1. hi all, cool forum!

ive started my first cabinet build, its going to be placed in a farmhouse outbuilding (which will get cold over winter but has power and is very discreet)
    its only a small cab, 5 drawer bedroom type cabinet, about 28"w x 14"d x 3ft h
similar in type to... Buy Napoli 5 Drawer Chest - White at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for Chest of drawers.
plan on starting with 2 auto lowryders, using CFL , in soil.

the flimsy backing material has been replaced by solid wood sheet.
The 5 drawers are now attatched together, backs/bottoms are removed and it has been hinged to the cabinet. so it still looks like 5 drawers.
10mm x 10mm wood frame added around opening for mounting draught excluding foam tape for air seal and light leaks. if light leaks can add mylar + velcro etc
getting some left over house insulation(like kingspan) tomorow from a friend to line inside of the cab.

i can drill holes into the bottom section of the frame insert to get air in passively, or vent from the side if i need an intake also i could place dehumidifier here? boxed maybe?

as humidity has been an issue in the outbuilding as a meter ive left in there for 1 week shows room humidity being lowest/highest at 85-99%, whilst temps have been very low 5C/12C . i believe humidity will lower once a bit of warmth gets in the box from the lights???

id like advice on should i go with...... one big 125w/150w dual Cfl ??
    or 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 x 23W / 30W of mixed red / blue ??

both about same price, which is best? will measure temps / humidity after light bought and fitted.

will then look at extraction + filtering

  2. box is now built and is currently housing 2 trial run babies from bagseed.

box is insulated, wired, and light + fans running fine so far.
temps and humidity are ranging massively, as temperatures are dropping low here locally.

ive ordered a digital temperature controller and am thinking of adding a ceramic heat bulb to warm the cab automatically when needed this winter, with maybe extra outtake fans wired to lower temps.

any advise on my options in heating a cabinet via digital temperature controller would be appreciated.

  3. A heating pad would work.

  4. i have a 1ft heat tube in there now running off a digital temperatre controller.
    seems to be working fine.

  5. pics please

  6. will get some tommorow

  7. this .....wired like this......to this ............keeping that warm :)

  8. Hey I've been looking at getting a Willhi temp controller, what you pay for that

    pic2 ..wiring looks confusing even

pic3 lot of work for one plant

  9. About £13/£14 for controller same for heat tube.
Wiring is easy il knock up a diagram later if u want, got indian takeaway couchlock atm!!! Mmmmmm

Trial run was bagseed , went wrong due to extreme low temps.
Then fitted heat tube & controller, and ordered 4 seeds,
started 2 seeds 1st january , one didnt sprout, this 1 did.

Have kicked off another seed 2days ago, so hopefully get a staggered grow and learn as i go.

First attempt at this, still learning.

  10. Hows everything going?
