Un-Tested Well Water.???

  1. Used to have very 'soft' municipal water and had no problems for 10 yrs,
We moved and now have chitty city water,
started growing again 5 months ago, just started having some funky yellowing/bronzing happening,
really think it is chlorine toxicity.!! (and no telling what else with that water)

There is a well here, has never been tested, but used often in the summer for yard stuff.
it does get murky sometimes and got muddy for a few months once, but i think that was due to near by construction
Tested It today, clear with no sediment, 5.9 pH and 0.0 EC according to blue lab's 'cheap' meters.

Does this well's water sound good enough to try?

  2. Yes, If you weren't adding some form of calcium to your city that would explain the rust on the leaves. At 5.9 I would learn to add silica to it first to bring it up to 7.0 before adding nutes or your final ph will be too low. May have to trash a batch to get it right. Do not add silica last to raise ph or it will neutralize your Phosphorous.

  3. if you suspect Cl then leave the water our overnight for use in the morning for the gas to dissapate

for $20-50 you can get the water lab tested by your local town council?

should be tax deductible ..? too

    well (pun?) worth the effort

    good luck

  4. I wonder if a free water analysis test at the pool store could tell you anything to help
    Worth a shot

  7. the well is free from chlorine, but my municipal water has changing amounts of chlorine and pH.
the chitty city water is the reason for looking at the well water.!!
