So what strain should i go with? im growin 100 in an 8x8 ebb n flow setup... critical mass by mr nice or power skunk by flyin dutchman. opinions needed .... 72 hours til purchase... please help and ill post pics of this massively amazingg feat. -ten
I like the critical MR. NICE is in my opinion the world leader in genetic breeding HOWEVER>>>> you cant possibly grow 100 of either strain in that area without loosing out BIGTIME somewhere. These strains are HUGE bulky plants when finished, 3-5 criticals indoors is a LOT OF PLANT. these types of strains dont do so hot with sog methods and if you want to get the full potential of the plant you should use a 5 gallon container minimum per plant.
Im really hopeful that i can fit 100 in 8x8 with 2400 watts 4 600s moving on light movers around the area... Its gunna be in hydroton 2 gallon containers on an ebb n flow and i just wanna concentrate on the top colas.. Mr nice sells his seeds as regular seeds only, so for me to do 100, only 50 abt will make it i imagine into floweringg .. I hope more but im not srue what the ratio is male to female. Im looking to get a guaranteed 5 pounds from this at LEAST which is about 2000 grams and with 2400 watts, it should cut the bill. Any other advice greatly!!! appreciated. -ten
Sounds like you could use a plant that is a little shorter and train a nice canopy, I really think critical will jam you up though. nirvana PPP is a winner in that application great tops and easy to do...if you do critical I would only do 25 max and let them veg 6 weeks or so. These HUGE yielders tend to get heavy buds on the branches and most of the benifit of the strain is the side branches. Theres pics out there of criticals claiming 30 OZs. any way this is the general plant structure as per MR. NICE View attachment 343740
Jamy aka Jamaican easy to gorw big yielder but try smoking it. I know a lot of people who grow 2+LB per 1000W with that strain.
Can't go wrong with anything critical,.....I have a pension for the critical yumbolt,...all the bang with tons of yum. I agree with the above,....PPP is simply amazing,....reminds me of "cousin It". I'm running another full run of just PPP as soon as my Jacks are done. Good luck and stay low bro!!

NICE" decided to redo the BIG BUD cross with fresher genetics of the same parents so the cross is afgani x skunk#1 just like the original. However BIG BUD was bred like 30 years ago and now the same strains used to make the original are far better than they were back then.....so CRITICAL MASS is indeed BIG BUD just a state of the art big bud and a huge improvement all round. What else would you expect from these breeders.
personally i was looking into this stuff as well and it can be done simply if you have the hydro skills . air misting in a water culture i would recomend . but i would use ebb as a hobbyst. as for the strain i was researching on chronic or master kush is very common for sog with no problems on quality smoke. blue monster is one i have been looking into but this is rare genetic from goldenseeds.com and i dont know if they are stil operational but yu can lookit up its AN interesring strain. but tried n true or exotic what are you looking to do. do some looking for the plants that like bigger main colas aND DONT FORGET TO TRIM LOWER BRANCHES OR YOU WILL REGRET IT. download seemorebuds dvd of vuse. it will shed alot of light for you. if you want mr nice critical mass is probably a good one for sog just trim the bottom branches. i am going to get the g13xwidow from them in march for some plans of mine.
i like the setup, however to yield a proper yield with 100 plants in that setup i would suggest going with a strain that donbt branch out too much but make one giant cola, this way you could grow nice long colas and still fit 100 plants, this would maximize tyour yield in this setup imo.if you go with a squat plant that branches out and stays wide, i would suggest only using 50 plants and planting at every second hole giving space to grow the way it was bred to grow
So youi guys think Big Bud and PPP are some of the best yielders? What other strains produce some ginormous buds?? I know there are other factors in play; lighting, co2, etc., just wanted to know of some other opinions.
never grew it but i heard "donkey dick" made huge top main colas, hence the name donkey dick, lol, i dont remember which seed bank had it but i thaught i remember it being a strain from spain or somthing
