So Warrington council has released their "it's not just a joint" campaign. It contains a lot of misinformation, including "Cannabis is now stronger than heroin". I can't believe they actually went and said something so dangerous, what if kids see that and start to think heroin is safer than cannabis? As soon as this got out there was a HUGE backlash on facebook, hundreds of cannabis users went onto the page requesting proof and studies to back up their claims. Needless to say they couldn't provide any and actually shut down their facebook page temporarily. They said they're going to "review" the campaign. Absolute fucking idiots. They're claiming they love a debate, yet they aren't responding to comments properly. They're not supporting their claims, literally all they're doing it replying to comments with 'bad language' asking them to stop. Been reading through all the comments supporting Cannabis, and the sheer amount of them is unbelievable, not to mention the thumbs up they're receiving. Absolutely brilliant. The issue here isn't the strength. Stronger herb means less smoke inhaled. If they want to educate the youth tell them the truth: Yes cannabis is a drug that can cause demotivation, dependency and withdrawal. It is not harmless. BUT (and this is the part they fail to convey) it IS NOT IN THE SAME LEAGUE as drugs like cocaine, heroin, meth etc If cannabis was legal then the children could be told the truth more like how they are told about alcohol: Just wait until your at least 18, don't drive high, and keep moderation like with all things in life
