Bit of old news here but want to go over some things, if you haven't already read it here's a link: Petition: Make the production, sale and use of cannabis legal. . In their response they stated that "Legalisation of cannabis would not eliminate the crime committed by the illicit trade" as we all know this is wrong, maybe not eliminate all crime, but all cannabis related crime to do with distribution, use and production would not be funding criminals (or would be) and funding the government (still kinda criminals). There is evidence to show that this statement is false. In Colorado, legalizing cannabis has impacted the cartels money, the US border patrol seized 2.5 million pounds in 2011 and 1.9 million pounds in 2014. In Mexico there has been a decrease in 32% of confiscated cannabis in large quantity. In this article it also states that "There are positive signs that the Government’s approach is working: there has been a long term downward trend in drug use over the last decade". This statement is false, there has been a rise on drug use and a massive rise on a specific party drug that i cant mention here. They only showed statistics for cannabis use and not for anything else and claimed it showed a downward trend in overall drug use. In conclusion, the government has lied to us and has given false statements that their laws are working when they are clearly not.
Yeah they just don't understand it completely right now, eventually it will be like america, medical, then recreational, but they need alot of people to get those laws pushed, and i don't see that much motivation in england to do so.
the cartels are now stealing oil from PEMEX, mexico's state owned oil company. it has caused lots of grief in mexico and the US. legalization of cannabis in these states is a huge start but work is not even close to being done. i do not know much about the laws of the UK, but criminalizing drugs anywhere does not work.
Laws in the uk are stupid, weed used to be class C (a being the worse, c being the not best but better but still illegal) but got raised to a B. Think we have the schedule 1 thing here as well.
Our government are failing in many ways and they stick to the same old statements on cannabis views without acknowledging the good it causes, all that being said I really do feel with a bit more public pressure and awareness we can some what force the issue. Sent from my D5503 using Tapatalk
