Our media seemed to be pretty good at reporting the inaccuracy at statements made by our Government officials who insisted the American Government were intent on pursuing Assange and that some others were adamant that they had no intention of following him at all. These were the same people (such as the ambassador) who wanted very early advice on how the situation was unfolding. He claimed that there was no knowledge of what was going on in these events. I don't want Assange to get hurt, but at the same time I think he'd be an invaluable martyr to kick-start revolt.
With or without Assange if things continue the way they are it'll only be a matter of time before a revolt begins.
