Media attention is so exorbitantly expensive, only the wealthy can afford to get their message across. Even where the Internet is concerned, unless you have a lot of money to post your message on a popular media site, only people who actively search for your content ever see it. In other words, the message only reaches the already-informed. As long as everyone remains brainwashed to tune into popular media (TV or Internet) only the elite will benefit from it.
