  1. Hi all, looking for absolutely any advice on growing indoors. I would like to know the best strains for beginners and also advice on a good set up. I'm wanting to grow in soil and that is all I know. Please be nice

  2. Welcome to City m

If this is your first grow , i will like suggest start with an Auto Feminised seed. That way you can reduce the risk of making mistakes

  3. And I would recommend a photo fem... that away when you mess something up in the short veg time you don't end up with a 4 gram plant that is half a foot tall...

My special queens been doing be well and is cheap as well as a freebie on some sites with purchases.

  5. Yeah I've been studying haha came here for some advice from experienced growers or from anyone with advice really dude

  6. They can definitely produce but you have to know what you are doing... if you don't and your temps are off and you are over or underfeeding and not using the proper soil it can just devastate the harvest... on top of that you have to be very picky where your autos come from as most places sell some shady unstable autos... whereas others sell stable ones at a higher price. Also gotta remember that if you do run the auto at 24/7 incase of any light leaks or anything that it'd just be cheaper to light proof the room and use photos so you only have to run the lights 12/12 during the flower cycle which can really help on electricity and you can keep the lights off all day if heat during the dead winter is an issue with your setup.

  7. I would not recommend that any beginner start with autos - one hiccup in the growth cycle and your yield will be shit - photos allow time for recovery should a problem develop, and I assure you they will. As far as strain is concerned, I would recommend an indica or a hybrid that is indica dominate. Bagseed would be ideal to learn on but if you are planning on buying seeds, I would recommend a Nirvana feminized photo strain because they are relatively cheap. You live in the UK so getting seeds shouldn't be a problem. You seem to have dissed Shifte83's advice about studying - he was trying to help you out - you can go on these forums and get dozens of different answers to your questions - not all of them being good advice because a lot of the advice is not necessarily coming from experienced growers. You have already gotten different opinions on using autos and one of the posters advocating autos for a first grow was a GC staff member. If you haven't already I would suggest www.growweedeasy.com for sound growing advice.

  8. Yeah thanks dude I wasn't dissing at all. I just ment I have been studying but also looking for opinions as loads of sites tell me different things. I think the autos are out of the question then. Do you know how long it will take me I'm looking at around 8 plants.

  9. ledrob82- I was thinking of getting my seeds from seed sense as the reviews all suggest a really good dispenser man

  10. Man I'd personally start out with 2-3... what type of light are you running... you're gonna need a couple 600 watt hid for 8 plants and proper ventilation. My special queen is rather nice and a super short flowering time... had my entire plant chopped down my day 59 of flip. Clones are on route to grow just as fast as well and they are cheap.

  11. If your referring to how long your grow will be from start to finish, that's depends on the strain and the flowering time - but you can bank on anywhere from 12 to 16 weeks if you don't have a problem. If you want 8 plants and you plan on vegging them 4-5 weeks - you are going to need a shitload of light.

  12. Never used em... only used the vault and the seeds I bought failed to germ.. though I know most people have no problem with them and the seeds I purchased were cheapest of the cheap but the freebie sq#1 did sprout I like royal queen seeds in general.

  13. Thanks for advice guys I have not yet purchased the lights what would be a good set up anyone know? You think I would be better with 2-3 to get some experience?

  14. I wouldn't buy bundle stuff like that. Man it depends what you are after... i grow for just me for the most part so I just have a couple of mars hydro 300's but if you have the space you could easily run 1-2 600w HID depending on how many but you also need proper ventilation and I'd recommend a grow tent as well. It can get pricey the inline fans I'd just look for used on eBay in bids... filter... again depending on how many plants and the space you may be able to get away with a cheaper Ipower or you may need something stronger if you want bigger equipment... and of course if you want to spend the money there are some great cob lights out there.

  15.
  16. Then I'd definitely look into cob light or a nice reliable HID and a nice size tent and don't forget proper intake/outtake and airflow. Tower fans work pretty well for airflow the one I have has a wind mode and oscillation I like it definitely one of the reasons I've never gotten mold flowering in high humidity.

  17. Thanks man I have took what you have said onboard. Will keep this thread updated with my progress

  18. I would not suggest this - not because it's a kit, but because it's NFT - Nutrient Film Technique hydroponics. NFT is only for very experienced growers - not beginners.
