types of weed?

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by hinoto, Feb 21, 2010.

  1. hey im new to smoking and my friends area always talking about different types of weed and how they give you different highs. can anyone list some and the kinds of highs they give you?

  2. I'm assuming you're just talking about sativa/indica.

  3. There are hundred of strains that all give a different high. Indica gives a slowed and lazed type of high and Sativa is more of a giggle, hyper high. Each strain is different, even in schwagg, so either way you're going to get high.

  4. dude there is so many different types of weed, the way they look, smell taste and so on.. your you cant list a type of bud and explain the high from it! you need to smoke it and find out for yourself.. your new to smoking give it sometime you will come accross some good shit

  5. it basically comes down the the arrangement of the chemicals THC,CBD,CBN, and a myriad of other cannabinoids,, that certain strains seem to possess individually. yes as stated above, a fat leafed, indica will be an excellent night time smoke.. while a thin leafed sativa is more of a day time high in my opinion.. the differences are subtle but they are there.. then of course u got your hybrids giving you traits of both :p

  6. Well i do t want anyone to flip there lid or anything but were looking at it all wrong.

Cannabis Sativa is not smoked! Cannabis Sativa is what we know as hemp.

Cannabis Indica is the family that produces the resin that we ingest. What is commonly referred to as "sativa" is indeed a Cannabis Indica. The long thin leaf variety is a southern landrace. The short fat leaf variety commonly referred to as Indica is a northern landrace originating in the mountains of the middle east.

It is believed that all cannabis indica originated in the middle east and central Asia. Northern landrace seeds were introduced to the southern hemisphere several years later by early settlers and eventually adapted to the environment and became the southern land race.

Im not sure where sativa and indica came in to play, i think some people wrote a book with that information but i think they have since discredited their own work.

Share that with your friends, we need to educate.

  7. wrong lol...industrial hemp is just a different strain of sativa that's why it's been hard for them to get it legalized separate from cannabis..they recently found a genetic marker that can separate the two though so that could be big for industrial hemp

  8. [IMG]thanks dude didn't wanna be the dick to say"your wrong" lol. Jk. Indica is not "the one" that gets you high.you get different buzzes each, and ruderalis is used for AFs

  9. the differences in growth are enormous however, indicas can take 6 to 8 weeks on some, n usually form a denser more Bush like plant. While some PURE sativas, like Haze varietals, can take 9-13 weeks of budding.. these producing a skinnier, tall tree.. my fave is a nice hybrid of I and S.. possesing certain qualities of each sub species..

  10. Sativa is hemp.
