type of highs?

  1. yea i was wondering if u can make a plant be more of a sativa high-head, or more of a indica high-body, no matter what kind of strain it is simply by harvesting at certain times? thanks for any help...:smoking:

  2. i dont think thats how it works, but i could be wrong...so bump for someone who knows

  3. I dont think so man..

  4. No, if you want a sativa (up) high, plant sativa seeds. If you want an indica (stoned) high, plant indica seeds. Sativa and indica refer to the species of the weed plant, not the things you do to the plant.

  5. Yes you can affect it by some degree by when you harvest. Harvesting earlier with more clear trichs gives a more up high. Harvesting later when there are lots of amber gives a more down stone. Obviously you aren't going to get a Haze buzz out of Northern Lights but it makes a lot of difference.

  6. Ditto.

  7. I dont mean to change the topic but is there a certian time when you can tell if a plant is indica or sativa? Dont sativas grow very large?

  8. sativas have narrow leaves and indicas have fattys

  9. THC, CBD, and CBN (main cannabinoids) vary widely on a number of things, and after strain these would be such things as the time of harvest, drying method, cure, etc. As THC degrades (such as later in harvest) you will tend to have higher concentrations of CBN (couch lock). Various recipes abound for when to harvest based on trichome color as buzb8lvr alluded to, but try not to harvest too early (THC not peaked, other cannabinoids lacking development) or too late (degradation of THC, excessive CBN, possible mold, etc.)

  10. Agree to use the trichs as a barometer of what kind of high you can get from the plant, given the plant's genetics. But I would not harvest even for a trippy head-high until the trichs are cloudy, when they are clear it is too early.
