Tyler's outdoor blue city diesel

  1. Hey everyone, Iv been itching bad to do another grow since last year indoor's. I felt that i learned much from my first two and have an opportunity to take the experience outdoor this year on family land. We are still working out logistics and amount of plants ect. Lots of things up in the air as I am including another individual who has done minimal help on my grows in the past. I want him to feel included in every step of the way as these are going to be his plants as much as mine and I'm looking forward to sharing my knowledge that i have gained from my experiences with him. I do have a tap well of 25 years experience with outdoor organic grows through another family member from northern California as well. I am shooting to put plants in the ground no later then the second week of June so I do have time to get things set and going. I am going to start from seeds (BCD maybe a couple lavenders) Red Solo cups in my indoor box with a 400w MH lamp for about a month or so. (I'm shooting for about 10 plants this year.) Soil will be a mix of light warrior and ocean forest from fox farms (I have the most experience with this) I will be using this for the outdoor garden too. So far the size of my holes is looking like a 3' X 3' hole for each plant. (50/50 mix of fox farm and natural soil is possible depending on quality) I am still up in the air about Nute's. I have experience with both Organic worm tea's and with synthetic blends. I do currently have the three fox farm line 2x. Im going to get cal/mag nutes as well if i go with synthetics. (felt like this would have been a great benefit for my indoor plants) The only reason I am leaning towards synthetics is not having a good worm farm set up at the moment nor do I really have the time for one to be set up and be working well by the time i plant outdoors. If anyone has opinions on this I would love to hear them as I would love to do organic nute supplements but that might have to wait till next season. I am also doing research into main lining a couple of the girls. I had really good success with this indoor. I'm really doing this out of the love for growing. I don't smoke much anymore (maybe once or twice a month) and I have no interest in moving dime bags and dubs again. So really my experiment here is understanding why the main opinion is that indoor is better then outdoor. I want to grow more for quality and not quantity. As quantity isn't going to be an issue with 10 plants. Any opinions, idea's and suggestions ect. is always welcome! In fact I encourage and appreciate them!

  2. Sounds good, I look forward to this grow.

  3. After doing some thinking I am leaning more toward a super soil so i dont have to worry about nute's and PHing plus iv seen/heard great things about the quality difference. I have subcool's recipe, I'm just not sure how much it will produce and if it'l be enough for ten plants. I was also thinking of doing pots instead of 3' x 3' holes. Not sure what size pots id use. still have to figure out logistics of everything before i can really move towards that choice. Anyone have experience with pot sizes and super soil? My buddie grew a BCD last year in a 3'x 3' hole up to 8 ft apparently in MG but i never saw it.

  4. Well it did happen this year. Just not what I expected. Old man planted some for fun in his garden, after 3 weeks of them being stunted he let me fix them. Around a month and a half later they stand at 4' 8" flowers coming in with hues of purple and blue it looks like. Here's some pics from over the last few months...

  5. Went in yesterday and took out a lot of fan leaves. Started from top to bottom. Focused on the most useless leaves that arnt getting great sun and are blocking the light from getting into the middle of the plants and a little lighter defoliation for the bottom bud sites. Goal is to force the plant to focus more energy on the buds instead of pushing energy to keep leaves alive that arnt producing enough energy for the rest of the plant. I do not remove all fan leaves. Just what I deem useless or better off not being there[IMG]

  6. Put up the hoop (what I thought was to be a hoop, more like a greenhouse) [IMG]

  7. Been rainin quite a bit round my part of town. Some adjustments need to be made to the structure this weekend. Humidity's high. Temps a tad low. Putting in heater and a fan. The tent already has passive intake so prolly just have a vent opposite the fan(s). The BCD has always seemed very resistant and can take a lot of stress before having problems. Iv had no big problems no mold problems (knocks on wood) just an overall healthy grow (after fixing the p.h. Issues in the start. Really do love this strain. I have lots of plans for the future with it. Plus a few others ;) strain hunting is fun!

  8. Dehumidifier added to the room. With that the temp and humidity controllers everything is perfect except air flow. I don't think I'm gonna add an exhugst till next season. Did a really heavy feed in 2 gallons I'll give another light feed next week if they need it. Bottom leaves starting to yellow. Couple tiny spots of white. In the thick leaves near the bottom. Just took the whole leaves out. 5 more weeks! We do have a few storms coming this weekend. Lots of faith in the construction of this hoop!

  9. Been a bit since my last update. Been having stem rot(some kind of mold) attacking various areas of the braches at the nodes. Iv stoped the progress but by the time I see it it's already cut of flow of life to that node. Other then that, the girls are happy doing there thing. I have a few more things to get for trimming and cure. Some porn for anyone following.
