Twisting Leafs

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by kalimist, Jun 20, 2007.

  1. Hello,

Recently got some clones... They are growing day-to-day, but some of the leafs are twisting (see pics below). I'm not sure what is causing some of the leafs to twist... Perhaps the heat??

    Here's some needed info:

    They are indoor plants.
They are about 1-2 weeks old.
In Fox Farm Ocean Forest Potting Mix, in 3 gallon pots.
Under a 400w HPS light, about 20 inches away, hung directly above the plants.
They are on a 18on 6off lighting schedule.
    Humidity ranges from 35%-45%
Temperatures range from 85-95 degrees fahrenheit.
I have NOT fed them anything.

PICS HERE, NOTICE THE RED ARROWS POINTING TO THE TWISTING LEAFS:

Sorry the pics are not the best quality, cell phone pics...

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

  2. heat & low humidity

spray them a few times a day or make a humidity dome(tupperware storage tub) for them till they are more established

  3. OK!
Heat is going to be a constant issue. It's summer here, 90+ everyday. Plus this very old house has horrible insulation...

What's the absolute MAXIMUM temperature I could pull it off with???
I know 75 is optimal, but I would like to know what the absolute maximum might be...

    THANKS AGAIN!

  4. 55F-95F

but they can handel the heat,

I said they need to be established, they are weak clones..... hardly any roots, they are just starting and most likely just came out of a humidity dome

  5. OK!
I'll see what I can do about the humidity. A dome is a good idea.

What's a good humidity % to go for?

    THANKS!

  6. just spray em & put a dome on them
