TVs, computers, and news

  1. With the internet in the palm of everyone's hand more often than not, it's become obvious to most internet-goers that mainstream news on the TV is biased, contains hidden agendas, and basically suck at doing what they claim to be doing.

So how long until people stop watching news on the TV? What is the tipping point for that to happen? Internet's everywhere, the information is easily accessible... what more is required? Personally I think it's a combination of giving them the motivation to search for it, and the rationale to distinguish between biased/opinionated reporting and proper coverage.

Going further, will television become obsolete? Will there be a day where people don't come home to a TV, but simply a computer? That could require a dual screen for internet addicts, and more processing power than what is currently available to the public market.

I'm really high and kind of went a few directions more than originally intended with this post. What do you guys think?
