Hi, I'm quite new to all this and was wanting to know how long you would normally leave your plants lights on 18 hours before putting them onto 12s. Or do you have other lighting times?
    Cheers

  2. It depends on hw big you want ur plants to be and the space u have to work with. I would leave the plant in veg for about 5-7 weeks. But thats jus me

You'll get as many thoughts on this subject as there are growers, but I think a general rule of thumb would be a minimum of 4 weeks vegetation, or 7 nodes on the plant.

You can start 12/12 from seed if you want. You'll harvest in 90 days or so, but your harvest quantity will be diminished, so you'll have to make it up in numbers (think SOG)

Possible things that affect when to bloom

    1) Space consideration - Small spaces = short(er) vegetation cycle.

    2) Strain - Some strains are already bred to be small & compact, these usually benefit from longer vegetation cycles, in terms of quantity at harvest time. Some sativas that need longer blooming times & stretch considerably more than indica strains may benefit from a shorter vegetation period resulting in a quicker time to harvest & more manageable canopy size.

But again those are just my "theories"
