Turning 500$ into 5,000$

  1. How would you do it?

Basically I have 500$ that I want to use to somehow make more money to buy a car. How would you go about doing so? I've been looking into stocks but that just seems too complicated. So go ahead, how would you turn 500 into 5000

  2. I turned $20 into $2400 when internet poker was legal...

    I miss internet poker.

  3. Preferably legal

  4. Still legal.....

  5. Ok take your $500, and put on "0" in front of it, va-la! You now have $5000!

  6. well if you're looking for legal ways, flip some cars. go cruise Craigslist and buy a junker, then sell it for like 1000, then do it again but get a slightly nicer one every time. my friend used to do it in high-school and made bank and drove a different car almost every day lol

    Yup. :smoke:

  8. there is a book about a dude who bought a red pen o Craigslist and sold it to buy more and more slightly increasing the value until he bought a house. since
you already have 500, buy something for 500 and sell it for 600 then continue

Who the fuck buys a pen on CL?

  10. Craigs-list-flip some shit. It really isn't hard when it is stuff people are in demand for.

For example: Find something you know people are going to buy, like a gaming console, and buy it for cheap then sell it for 50-100 bucks more than you bought it for. Just leave it in your room until somebody picks up an offer. Or you could just start with cars, that works as well. Good luck!

  11. Watch the show Barter Kings. I think it's on A&E or Discovery. They show the whole process.

  12. Buy scrap gold and silver, You pay 40-75% of the melt value, and sometimes end up with nice items that can either be sent to a refiner or resold for a lot more than you paid..

I'm pretty sure it was through eBay's "trade" option
He started by trading a red paper clip for a pen, after a bit of trading (well, allot, he got himself a fucking house, by eBay trading and little cash....)(I could be wrong but I'm 90% sure this is what's being talked about)
OP, try that, spend $10 on something, and trade your way up, eventually making major profit!

  14. with $500 starting bankroll itd be realistic to grind out to $5k.
    just gotta play smart.

if you are outside the US id say take this guys advice.

    play poker.

i miss online poker as well :(

i play much better live though.

  15. you guys are clueless:confused_2::confused_2:

    get a job, kid.

500 dollars isnt enough money to set anything up with a return of 4500. if you have to ask the people here you're not going to get very far.

if you have the work ethic you could look on craigslist for a used honda commercial walk behind lawn mower. they run forever with very basic maintenance. you could run a cash business. if you picked up 10 accounts you can easily make a few thousand dollars.

  16. Buy a 400 dollar car since ur broke. An eighth, some gas,a pizza stick. Then baam. U got s car n a pizza stick.

  17. *Grabs popcorn*

  18. Buy silkworms and spices from India then sell them in Eastern Europe where such exotic commodities are a rarity

  19. Man builds home with paper clip. This would be THE example of YMMV.

Not too many people start out with an empty gas can and end up with a Ferrari just by...trading. That usually requires serious corruption and massively overvalued prices.

You know, like the stock market...
