Bolsonaro supporters invade Brazil presidential palace, Congress, Supreme Court BRASILIA ... supporters of Brazil’s far-right former president Jair Bolsonaro on Sunday invaded the country’s Congress, presidential palace and Supreme Court in Brasilia, in a grim echo of the US Capitol invasion almost exactly two years ago by fans of former President Donald Trump. “Violence has no place in a democracy,” Douglas Koneff, the US chargé d’affaires in Brasilia, wrote on Twitter. “We strongly condemn the attacks on the institutions of the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary Powers in Brasilia, which is also an attack on democracy. There is no justification for these acts!“ Bolsonaro Is Following Trump’s Anti-Democracy Playbook At least one foreign leader still believes outgoing U.S. President Donald Trump’s desperate claims that the election was rigged. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was one of the last heads of state to grudgingly acknowledge President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. But Bolsonaro remains adamant that the U.S. election was stolen and that Brazil’s presidential contest in 2022 could be too. While his latest assault on Brazil’s election system is controversial (and possibly criminal), it hardly comes as a surprise. Not only does he idolize the outgoing U.S. president, Bolsonaro is peddling similar false claims and conspiracy theories in Brazil.
It wasn't the far right.........it was Antifa in disguise. Like the Antifa guys holding trump flags on J6.
Lula presents some problems for the US. He is the only leader in the Western Hemisphere that is a member of BRICS. He wants even closer ties with China and wants developing nations to coalesce and cooperate around BRICS. He has stated that Ukraine is just as responsible as Russia for the war. I’d like to say we won’t be seeing Americans flying the Brazil and Ukraine flag together anytime soon….but stranger things have happened. Sounded like more election integrity issues happening there as well. The guy being interviewed said people are losing faith in the electoral process. Maybe another 3 am ballot dump? Perfectly normal, nothing to see here.
i have a feeling this person is not even real. They never respond to any of my questions or really participates. They sprew what they need to for the day and move on to the next place on the list lol
Fascism is the merger of corporations and government. The corporations act as an extension of the government. as we have seen with Covid: The government issued its orders and large corporations follow them. This has been happening long before trump, and it’s happening after trump… it’s as if corporations and governments have an equal footing (they each serve their ‘role’ in global society) and there is a greater power that they answer to???
Prior to Jan 1, all of the news articles seem to have been in favor of the former president. After Jan 1st it changed. The protest before had zero Luna supporters and now they all of sudden show up??? it’s all strange and it’s looks exactly like what they did an America. Peru is rioting because their president was impeached and the vp took over
The guy in Brazil promised villages he would give them money if they voted for him. They did and he never gave them anything and now they are starting to complain
Thank you for pointing that out. I fixed it so some people would better understand who I meant by ‘the guy’
It’s funny how what is happening in Brazil (the fallout, arresting supporters, purging the government forces) is similar to what happened in United States. when was it ever ok to arrest and censor the opposing party because of their views? they say ‘so what’ that’s in another country it dosnt effect me what are you going to do when they do it to you??
Dammit Sit, you know how slow I am. I still don't understand why you say there's no villages in America, there are plenty of villages.
I went and looked. All this person participates in is stiring the shit in political chats. Nothing about bud. True troll. I wonder how many accounts on these forums are people at home on a payroll paid to spread their shit everywhere on the internet
I don't know anything about all that but I've read many of his posts and while they are all silly progressive posts, they do seem to represent his real opinions, unfortunately. Name calling, lies, and bigotry is his go-to troll bait, in this case the bait is in the thread title, everything else is copy and paste.
