so I got this clone from a guy who took it from a seed plant, who says it’s a female but during bloom, one branch grew male pods that had petals below the bud where I would expect a male plant to form a flower. It took me a long time to see it because the male flower clusters were so small but a plant below it appeared to be pollinated. So I got ahold of the guy and told him his plant is a male and female but he said it’s not doing it for him and I’m at fault. I thought a stressed female would form nanners like bananas and if you see an actual pod with flowers along with your pistils during weeks 2-3 then that is a true herm from genetics and not your fault. I usually just see nanners and I don’t see pods forming on my plants but maybe they’re inside the buds so I’m not noticing?
its not a true hermie ,,people say its through stressing the plant, but most times a female plant with just a few male flowers appearing could be the genetics of the plant ,,some times it just happens ,,,if there not to many male buds/flowers try and take them off,,and just watch out for any more showing up ,,mac.
i don't understand what a true hermie is i guess. i thought that a plant that was going into bloom that produced both types of flowers is a genetic hermaphrodite while a female that was stressed would produce nanners that show up when theres more bud formation?
a real hermie will have female flowers growing out of male flowers and male flowers growing out of female flowers ,not just a few male flowers on a female plant ,,and its from the beginning of flowering not when the female flowers are out they appear together ,,look up on the web about true hermies etc ,,the flowers are all mixed together ,a few make flowrrs on the plant is sometimes the breeders fault by using unstable genetics or could the grower or environment plants growing in ,,mac,
Nanners show on progressed buds, Alot of times when the plant stresses itself and tries to pollinates itslef. Not due to genetics or mistakes, but just a horny ass plant wanting to mate. Mac hits the nail when he said both flowers should show all over the plant if it's truely Hermie. Nature has a way of continuing life even when the environment isn't fit for it.
yea if the plant gets near its harvest time and has not been fertilized the sort of goes in to survival mode and throws up a few nanners to try and fertilize its self and make seeds so its genetics can survive ,,,if it does that and the plant as not got true hermie trats the seeds it make will turn out all female seed,if the plant had trats for turning hermie the seeds will most likely turn out hermie too ,,,mac ,,
Also, in conclusion, if you only have it on one branch that early in flower, it's probably your mistake unfortunately.
it could very well be my mistake. i have a light leak and have been using a thick moving blanket to cover it till i can figure out how to fix it. i have a few plants that have shown nanners but nothing has appeared this early. the plant is over three feet tall and spreads out over four feet with loads of branches so keeping an eye out for male flowers seems like a big chore so i just chopped it down. i kept a clone of her just in case but i will hold off till i fix the room. thanks for the help!
I dunno if u guys can see it due to the yellow light but there are nanners coming out of this bud. No pods. Just entered week four. So why is this one not producing pods and flowers like the other one? I think the master hemp from the first post is a true herm while this nanner is a female that is stressed.
