Truck burns to ground middle of night

Discussion in 'General' started by J@R3D, Oct 7, 2007.

  1. So im asleep and my girl wakes me up abruptley with the sound of your truck is on fire we have to get outside. I live an a huge apartment complex. I freak cuz i was drunk and asleep and we run downstairs and i see that my literally MINT 96 blacked out chevy blazer has been set afire by the car next to it. The car to my right was melted to the concrete. I have no words to express how i am feeling. The cops were so rude and did nothing to help, i am in college and dont no what i am going to do for vehicle, i dont even know if insurance covers that sort of thing? Thats why im posting, to rant and ask advice if his insurance,Geico, will take care of my burnt marshmellow truck. Anyone with legal knowledge please advise. Sorry for the rant, its now 348 in the morning and i had to start drinking and smoking a shit ton after this:eek::confused::(

  2. Man, that shit sucks.. I wish I could help you out, but I don't know much of that sort of thing.

I'll smoke a fat one for you though bro.

  3. Sorry to hear about the loss man. The thing I would do first is talk to the person whose car was on fire first and see where the start of everything came from, cars don't just spontaneouslly combust so find out what's up then start asking questions to lawyers and insurance companies to find out the best legal action to take.

Hope it all turns out well and maybe you'll get a new ride out of it. Peace

  4. ummmm lol... sry but if that fucks insurance doesnt cover it id beat the fuuuuuuckkkk outta that tool

  5. Aw man, that sucks :( sorry to hear that

  6. well his inruance should cover your damages but if you get jerked around like i did theyll fight it and say "what proof do you have it was his car that set yours on fire nad not the other way around..." i got fucked by insurance a few times.

  7. If u can get the information from the persons whos car burnt next to yours get it. If you don't know them or can't find them to get it, the police should have that info in their reports..

You need to call your insurance company. Even if you don't have their info you need to call ur insurance company asap as thats the first thing to do in an accident like that. If it's covered or not I'm not 100% sure how it works with fires, but thats where you have to start..

In an accident your insurance company would contact theirs and that would get the ball rolling, and get you the info you need as to whats covered, and who's paying for what. If the car next to yours was insured usually their insurance will cover the damage to ur vehicle, or if totalled they'll cut you a check for the book value of a 96 blazer with ur mileage. Which could be either good or bad.. If your car was in poor condition but with lower miles you may make out, but if it had very high miles, but had money into the body work-electronics you'll most likely loose on the deal.

Let us know what happens though? I'm curious to see what happens in cases with car fires when it's not the fault of the policy holder.. What a shitty way to start ur weekend... i feel for ya bro, hope it gets worked out proper for ya.

  8. Sorry, not trying to be offensive or a dick or anything, I just find it a tad bit funny your truck was a 'Blazer' and it burnt to the ground.

  9. I thats some funny shit cat. I kept it immaculant and paid cash for it less than a year ago. Thanks for the help and support guys, i got all his info and shit last night, name insurance, phone, apartnemt the works. Took a shit ton of pictures, fire damage clearly shows that his was at fault, his was like non existant anymore. Ill keep you posted on what happens.

  10. Wow, lol. SO umm, your car didn't start the fire? The car next to it did? They might be responsible for paying for it, or insurance might cover it. Might even want to talk to a lawyer.

  11. No my vehicle did not start the fire. I didnt even drive it once yesterday, i was so baked all day i didnt even leave the house. His entire car was engulfed and destroyed, the damage to mine is beyond repair, but the majority of the fire damage destroyed the right side of the vehicle, the vehicle to my left was untouched, his car was on the end. I will be calling in a lawyer if necessary but i am hoping i will simply be reimbursed in full ammount for all assets lost

  12. that does suck pretty bad - sorry for your loses

  13. Sorry to hear that, but what are you doing asking about insurance on a weed forum?

I'd be getting in touch with an insurance rep and get them a copy of the police report. I'm hoping you actually got a police report at the scene. They should cover it though.

  14. oh man...
i woke this morning at my friends place, walk outside when im ready to leave, and realize....my car is gone
after calling a few diff tow places i finally found it, bunch of BS that i got towed
i got a taste of how you feel bro

man that sux not havin a car tho, hopefully you get a rental and dont have to pay for shit

  15. What sucks is you cant say that to the cops or the insurance company...

  16. Real life stories

  17. Shit man, sorry about your loss. I've totalled out a couple cars, so I know how it feels not having a car. Someone's insurance better pay for it. Preferably his. Talk to both insurance companies. I'm guessing the fault would be his and his insurance would have to pay for it, but I may be wrong.

  18. damn man that fucking sucks. hope everything works out.
