Trouble with seedlings

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by drdank50, Nov 4, 2012.

  1. Put these in shit glasses on Wednesday and transplanted to jiffy peat on Thursday. They have a dome on but not sure why they are shriveling up. Please help.

  2. Any reason why you haven't potted them yet? Get a good soil mix and put them in some pots so the roots expand...that should take care of it.

  3. Ditch the dome once your first seedling pops through the soil. Looks like dampening off IMO.

  4. I like to leave the dome on because I've had the leaves dry up and the seedling die before. They aren't potted because I want to make sure they are open and ready so I'm not wasting a cup.

  6. Oops. Does it feel better killing them with the dome? If you are going to leave the dome on make sure to prop it open a bit to allow for some fresh air to reach the plants. Don't transplant yet the roots can grow an inch out of the jiffy pellet with no problem if roots are kept moist.

This is typical....people start threads asking for help, then when people post trying to help them...they don't take the advice..why bother?.... happy growing brother. Putting them in shit glasses probably didn't help any:laughing:

  8. I have the dome off now and will monitor the progress.
