I hope everyone is battening down the hatches on the Gulf coast because here we go again this year with another potential swamper so close to harvest. I went out to stake my remaining ladies yesterday, and one was laying on her side with a vertical split up the stalk near the base. As if things couldnt get worse this year after getting 22 of my plants hauled off by the giant green dragonfly, here comes this fucker. They are saying my area could possibly get 10 inches, and if that happens I'm in serious shit. My plants are about 3 weeks out right now and it would suck donkey balls to have to cut them. Anyhoo, after his bitch blows on through I'll go back out and take the camera. I didn't have anything really to fix the split stalk on one of my girls yesterday, so I cut up my t-shirt and made her a tournaquet where the split was. I just hope it's not termites in her that caused it. Good luck to all Gulf coasters @ GC. I hope ya'lls crops pull through.
Try somne zip ties on than cracked stalk. Then stake well. Good luck to you friend. Wish I could help you prepare.
Thanks for the advice. I was thinking duct tape but I didn't know if that would work. This year turned from epic grow-to getting MEPped- to having to cut a male from what was going to be my seed patch just to have smoke for the year. I'm just gonna say fuck it and hope for the best. Next year I'll be growing a backyard scrog for sure.
For Irene I caged them in a triangle shape and twist-tied all the edges. This worked priceless. My ladies weren't even harmed!
we're not supposed to get much wind, but those rain bands can be torrential. My grow is in a slump and it has me worried they may get swamped. It was a chance I took knowing the possible outcome, but the grought earlier this year made the spot look really good. All I can do is pray now.
