Trip Hop Anyone?

  1. I was just perusing the Music Hall, and I've noticed that for a stoners forum, trip hop is not represented as well as I would have assumed. So do we have any other Portishead, Mandalay, Air, Massive Attack, ect. fans on here?

  2. when it comes to trip hop, dj shadow is my fav...bar none. Lets see, there's organ donor, building steam with a grain of salt , high noon, what does your soul look like part 3, midnight in a perfect world, lonely soul, walkie talkie, etc.

i can just listen to his stuff and relax, top notch.

watch this video stoned...itll blow your mind.

  7. Triphop? Not familiar with the term. If you could personify this movement with one song (hopefully readily available for "purchase" from the limewire store) post it so I can check it out

  8. Hmm, kind of hard to boil down into one song... BUT if I had to do it, I'd say Biscuit- Portishead would be a good place to start.

  9. Some more:

Portishead - Time Has Come feat. DJ Shadow
Portishead - Roads (this is the song that got me into Trip-Hop)
Portishead - Linger feat. PJ Harvey
DJ Shadow - Building Steam With a Grain Of Salt
DJ Shadow - Midnight In A Perfect World
Almost anything by Amon Tobin (this guy did the music for Splinter Cell if you've played it)

    Peace

Thievery Corporation - Warning Shots feat. Sleepy Wonder & Gunjan
    U.N.K.L.E. - UNKLE

  11. For some reason, I the limewire store took a long time to purchase, so I only got through the one song.

    My review:

Interesting. I'm not too big on the scratching, but everything else was pretty chill. I'll definately be checking out some of these other songs before I make a decision. Thanks!

  12. Yeah, the scratching isn't in alot of trip hop. You might like something like Insensible by Mandalay better. Just keep sampling from the limeware store, its some of the most chill music you will ever listen to.

    And nice picks Daank!:hello:

  13. Thanks, Dankk, for such great recommendations!!! I havent heard sneaker pimps before, or Amon Tobin either.. awesome shit

  14. Portishead
    Goldfrapp
    Hooverphonic
    Sneaker Pimps
    Bjork
    Hungry Lucy
    and
    Frou Frou

These are the trip-hop bands I like.
