So I’m a first time grower and one my first harvest. One plant it drying and another getting ready to come down. So the first plant I just trimmed the bigger leafs off and left the small stuff. Now that it’s drying it’s looking like it could be a pain in the ass to trim. What is the better way of trimming? What benefits do you see of doing either? Seems like it’s very back and forth and would just like to hear from some first handers. Was thinking of trying a full wet trim on this next one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The more leafs left on the longer it will take to dry it all comes down to your drying room conditions if you can dry for a week+ with no leafs more power to you but folks like myself where i live the winters are very dry so i need to leave the leafs on so it doesent dry too quickly, its really a matter of personal opinion tho theres no right or wrong way just do what works for you man
Yeah I’m in Michigan so winters can be rough. But my dry box is currently set at 50% and 70F. Tomorrow will be one week for the one hanging. The outside is crispy and still has some fluff in the center so I thinks it’s ready for jars. Maybe I’ll just try wet trimming the next one and see what happens. I have decent control of the dry box so I could always raise the humidity some if needed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
777 is a good rule of thumb also good n easy to remember 7 days 70% at 70 degrees i personally dont wait until the small stems snap like some I trim and jar while all stems are still bendy meaning theres still some moisture within the plant which is exactly what you want for curing then you slowly let out the rest of that moisture by burping jars multiple times a daily Lookin really good there my friend happy smokin.
