Low stress training comes first. I build a thick canopy and then remove the lower buds that will never develop. This is sort of backwards, sacrificing your canopy to get better quality popcorn. Not my choice.
That plant is far too small to start chopping leaves off. It needs all the leaves it has. If you need more light to the lower branches tuck the leaves in. First to third grow. From beginner to novice lol.
