I've been experimenting with various Rap artists over the last couple yrs and I've come to the conclcuion that it's a bad influence And here's why: The N word is repeated constantly. I like weed, but it seems like a pre-requisite in Rap...If you aint smokin weed, it seems you aint a Rap artist. Rap promotes the careless use of guns. Some Rap talks about disrespect for 'bitch ni$$as'. It promotes the objectification of women: AKA 'bitches'. There's a big divide among fans who like mainstream Rap, and those that hate it. It advocates greed. A lot of it promote hatred towards police. And in rare cases it promotes animosity towards white people So far, I only have 2 exceptions in my collection that are worthy enough to stay in my collection And those 2 are: Tech N9ne and K~Rino Your thoughts?!
Nah, Twilight is a bad influence, would you believe they had a sex scene in the recent film that just came out. So many 12 yr old girls were in that theater too smh I mean what is this world coming too Edit: Good movie though
****** needs to be used more, then it won't sting as much. The "N word" just sugar coats it and allows white people to still say ******. Whats wrong with promoting weed use in rap? SPOILER Yea I just hope they didn't/don't sugar coat the part were the baby eats through her stomach, that'll show those 12yo girls not to have sex too early

tech n9ne spits some of the same shit u said you dont like about rap. i just thought that was funny. and idk k rino so i cant comment on him.
Depends on the type of rap obviously [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHuPBf89APY]Immortal Technique - Open Your Eyes (lyrics) - YouTube[/ame]
I'm not sure whether your talking about kids or just in general. but if your talking about kids then.......fuck em. It's not the government's job to restrict free speech just because shitty parents exist. Now in general I don't care for the "street" rap unless it has strong storyline and vocabulary and it's not that convoluted, overly extended metaphor bullshit that's mostly playing now. And as for the word n1gg3r, refer to this: Offended by the "N word" - YouTube
If the word "n1gg3r" is so bad, then how can we get over it if we can't say it? Anyways, it's not a bad influence at all. That's just your opinion. You are probably listening to lil wayne, Gucci, other stupid shit. There is such a thing as rap, and hip hop. Hip hop is dead though, so you have to listen to some older stuff mainly, unless you want to dig really far down into some underground stuff to find the real thing. So yes, I guess you are right that rap is a bad influence, but hip hop isn't.
wrong, theres tonnes of positive rap out there. Rap is so varied. Rap is simply a form of vocal expression used heavily in hip-hop. One could rap about anything so... is expressing oneself about anything a bad influence?
I grew up listening to rap... its been around me my whole life. And guess what, I've never been in a fight, I don't like violence and greedy people disgust me. It doesn't objectify all women. It objectifies bitches and hoes. I am neither so it doesn't bother me. If someones offended by it, then they need to stop being what the music says they are or just don't trip off it because they aren't talking about them. And so the fuck what if they say N***a? I really don't see what's wrong with it, its their music they can say what they want. I say it, my white friends say it (my white ex, says it more then I do), my mexican friends say it. Its really not a big deal as long as you use it right and don't confuse it with N***ER. Lol. It doesn't promote hatred toward the all police, just the police who target them because they are black musicians. And again, not all white people, just ones who they feel are racist and predjudiced. I like rap music, a lot of rappers talk about nothing and its just shitty, but I listen to it because its catchy and has a good beat. I don't think all of it is real music, its not what speaks to me, but I can still enjoy it... I think you're reading WAY too much into the music man. You need to chill out and just listen to the beat. Don't take shit so seriously and you'll be fine man
I've got 2 Tech N9ine CD's: All 6's and 7's + the new one called Collabos.......and he rarely syas the N words and these songs aren't gangsta rap, these are real songs....with titles like: Am I a Psycho, He'a a Mental Giant, Love me Tomorrow, Welcome to Strangeland, etc.... I would let some of the younger people in my family listen to a lot of his tracks!! And, yes....there's positive rap out there.....That's what should be more popular....but the gansta rap or negative rap is what stays in many people's minds
Smart people know it's just music..the tards think they're really doing that all the time and try to copy them
