Tricky question for the masters of cultivation...

  1. Ok, let's say you have a male. You are day1 of flowering. You start to flower it, and give it a week to discover it truely is male. You then throw off the cycle and leave it dark for a few hours during supposed to be light, and make it a hermie. Now it will start producing buds and ball sacs... Now, what if you keep aiding to your hermie, and keep cutting off those ball sacks as much as you can find on your plant and as often as possible, to keep them from ever "popping" and releasing the pollen. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but you would be flowering buds, and they would not be pollenated? I'm sure i'm wrong, but as I analyzed the steps, it seemed possible. Legends of growing, have fun making me look like a fool :smoke: :D

  2. its kind of a waste of effort

  3. As I found out from other "masters of cultivation" :), males don't turn hermie.. it's as simple as that.

  4. Are you sure males can;t turn hermie, I have heard from reliable people on this forum that you can. Answer please.

  5. Do yourself a big favor and throw them things out. Unless you are breeding, having males around is a waste of energy. I've been at this grow stuff for years and am also a mod on another site. I have never heard of a male throwing off female flowers. Its always the other way around. The females develop the male flowers and destroy the crop. In my mind its DESTROY. Because hermies are the worst. Make some butter out of them and move on man. You'll thank yourself later. tc and good luck, gm714

  6. HIGH All, I agree with greenmonster714...why would anyone what to grow or breed Hermies....too many Hermie traits in strains Already. If people want Females grow from seed it's the best way and if any Hermies are discovered..deep six them.

  7. I agree, if you have a hermie.....its a genetic freak......a devil of the bud growing world. KILL it! If you seed it out, your going to have seeds with the genetics of a hermie and possibly many hermie plants. And yes, a waste of your energy.

If you truely want to finish growing a male, only do so for the pollen to germinate a female for some seeds. Even if it were possible, the time it would take to possibly convert that plant to a hermie ya could of regrown two healthy female seeds and veg'd them.

  8. :) I only know of one person to have previously stated that on this forum, and that was me.. but, as I said, in the meantime, I found out the contrary...

    P.S.: reliable huh?:) Thanks, I'm flattered ;)
