Since we can all lollipop, lst, supercrop, etc. to increase yield... can we also do these tricks to increase clone yields on mother plants?
Idk about mother plants but I do know some like to take clones from flowering plants because it apparently makes them branch like crazy or so I've heard.... just getting it rolling for ya Grow journal
Just my 2 cents lol That's monster cropping, took when I was 4 week's into flower Sent from my Pixel XL using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I had no idea you were a commercial grower... lol how many plants you grow at a time? (If ya don't mind) Grow journal
Yeah I know, I was showing the monster crop not the flowering plant! Here's my mother plant of GDP Sent from my Pixel XL using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Certainly. I grow 2 new, one-use, mothers every grow and do a little of all those things...creating more clone possibilities than I need.
I start with 12 clones (2 strains). At the point they get transplanted to their 5 gallon pots, the 4 worst performers (2 of each strain) are culled, leaving 8 plants vegging. At the flip, the 2 hardiest of those plants are returned to the cloning cabinet and continue to veg and become the mothers for the next grow. I clone from those 2 mothers, 2-3 weeks after the flip. The mothers are generally trashed at that point except for the spring run when I can drop them in the ground outside.. As to the your question...all 8 are treated the same thoughout veg. That includes some lollypopping, LST, Topping, and supercropping. The mothers continue to be tweaked during their final couple weeks. I only take those 12 clones but I bet could get 100 from those two because of how they are trained.
Yeah topping and lollypopping is a must for me. I’ve started supercropping my Blue Cookies, and my, the knuckle is getting bigger. I’ve never LST because i already HST (supercrop)
I top and LST the whole plant bending it horizontal when they reach 15" or so. Other than than, yeah, I supercrop and top mainly to keep the canopy even. I am working within 1 room for everything (including drying), thus my vegging the mothers for a couple (2-3) weeks has my clones ready to drop on the main floor right at the point the previous harvest is jarred. Someday, I will have that second room and it will be glorious.
