Trichomes Question

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by dandino, Aug 9, 2020.

  1. I see amber in the trichomes but I don’t see much cloudiness. I thought amber came out more at the end of the flowering stage.

  2. Where on your plant is that pic from? Because you could have ambers on leaves. They mature faster so don’t go by what’s on the leaves. Do you have a pic of the whole plant?

  3. It was a snip of a leaf that I took. I did hear before not to go by the leaf. But by the bud.

So this is it probably 2 days ago. IMG_0950.JPG IMG_0951.JPG IMG_0955.JPG

  6. So pretty much this strain says 55-65 days for flower. I believe today is day 54. I started flushing maybe a week or so ago. I had it dated to cut her down on the 18th.

Where and how do you look at the trichomes?
Sometimes I feel my hands too shaky to get a good view. I read some where to just take small snips. That’s what I actually did for these trichome shots. Just don’t know if I’m taking a snip of the right spot.

  7. I think you are in the 7 day window to harvest. Depending on the high you want, you can either wait towards the end of the 7 or harvest in the next few.

When checking trichs, you want to check the trichs on a cola not a sugar leaf. Base your readings off that.

  10. Hey question. 55-65 from 12/12 flip or from pistols? They look great!!!

  11. Id imagine from 12 12?
Do people actually get preflowers AFTER 12 12 sometimes? Wondering because this is my first true grow and my plants showed preflowers about 2 weeks maybe 3 even .. before i flipped em..
I waited until i got 3 alternating nodes grown before flip..honestly too long i think lol

  12. 964B8EBE-448F-42D5-9E4B-A89E28C29FEF.jpeg Not sure man. I’m about 60 days from flip 45 days after first signs of white hairs...and still waiting for amber tops...they began showing new hairs too last week...
Just curious.... what is your temp/RH at night / do you follow the Vapor pressure deficit chart? I heard higher temps and higher humidity yields less dense buds...know anything about it?

  13. So my temps are usually around 74*F. Humidity I want to say around 55% I honestly don’t check it no more. I pretty much have it set to where it’s like that day and night.

I have not heard of the vapor pressure deficit chart. I will look into it.

  14. Ok stop taking breeders word on the harvest window .
Stop scoping them out so much.
You should never scope your plants until you see 80 % of those white hairs your seeing on the bud change colors .
Usually brown. Then scope your plant . Just scoping will trick you !
You can scope a plant in week 5 and pull it ! I have seen it done by somebody doing it for years !
Hey boss i harvested the yada yada ! WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU SAY TO ME ? YOU MOTHER FUCKER !
lol just a short story . Point is wait to those white hairs start to change colors then snap a close up of your plant and scope it .
My opinion from what i seeing pictured above has 14 or more days to go .
And pulling early will cost you serious yield and quality issues .

  16. I don’t even start looking at trichomes until there’s not white pistils sticking out. You would not believe how much you can short change your grow by harvesting too early. The last plant I harvested I waited a few days when I thought it looked ready and in just that short time the buds became harder and more dense. It’s really hard to judge. Maybe this will help.
