Has anyone else ever experienced trichomes forming on their plants while vegging? The first two leaf sets are developing trichomes, but I'm only 10 days into veg phase. It's great because now I know which ones are female, but it's just odd to me. The lights have been on 24/7 with the odd here and there dark period for 6 hours or so, because it seems that they explode in growth when I give them that dark period. I know they're trichomes, I've gotten to the flowering stage before so I'm aware of what they look like, and when I touch them a great grapefruit smell fills the grow box. Anyway, do you think this will mean it'll produce lots of resin during flower? Or will it produce less? Any input is great, Thanks !

  2. i doubt that u already have trichs its probably just a case of mistaken identity lol post some good pics

  3. Dude they're sparkly, sticky dots all over the base of the leaves, which release a strong smell after touching,
And my camera doesnt pick up much, it's not very good quality. When they get bigger it might be easier to pick up.

  4. i'm not exp'd in growing but i dont think trich's grow on leaves

  5. Yes they do, it's called sugar leaves.

  6. Is this from seed or clone? I've heard of this happening from a seedling but never seen it. It's certainly possible from clone.

Males produce trichs too. Some can be quite frosty. With that said, you're probably right but you never know. Either way it sounds like you have a freak which might be special.

Well this might have something to do w/ it. Giving a photosensitive plant an odd light cycle can make it do interesting things.

It could produce more, but the only way to find out is grow it out and smoke it.

Let's see some pics of this triched baby!

  7. Theyre from seed, and the thing about the light cycles makes sense, i'll steady out the cycle. I'll try my best to get pics of the trichomes. And I never knew that males produced resin, I was always under the impression that it was only a female thing because its to catch the pollen. Do you know why males produce it?

  8. THC is the plant's defense mechanism against heat stress, bugs, inclement weather, etc. It's a genetic advantage they have and it's based off the plant's land of origin, thus why most indicas are heavier in thc to cbd levels than sativas, which are from higher elevations where they can flourish to great heights. But i doubt what you see is trichs man, not to doubt your knowledge, but the plant can't have any maturation by that time to create any. It's probably just tiny hairs that all plants have that grow on the leaves.

Plus thc doesn't grow on fan leaves, and since your plant isn't old enough for sugars it's all you got, kinda self explanatory.

  9. True man, thanks. :p

  10. My 60 Day Wonder had sugar on it very early in its life
It was on the leafs and then later on the bud sights
    Don't Touch!!
And I don't know of any strain that only produces resin during veg and not flower so you will be good

  11. For some reason the uploader won't let me upload the pictures I have that show the trichomes, it says I can't because I've already uploaded the picture to my grow journal. I don't mean to be one of those "look at my thread" people, but the only place you can see the pictures is my journal if GC wont let me upload them.

  12. Just open the picture in some sort of edit software like Paint on windows
Resize or alter the pic a little bit and change the name even
Now you can use that pic like new
    gl

  13. Sweet, thanks bro.

  14. The suspected trichomes are the white dots near the base of the leaves, my camera doesn't pick them up that well, but they're there alright.

  15. Looks like the beginning of some to me
Right place for them at least
Same as in my current grow

  16. nope not seeing it:confused:

  17. My previous grow, can still see the cotyledon leaves

  18. You don't see the sparkles covering the base of the leaves ? They appear as little white dots, they're most prevalent on the leaf toward the bottom of the photo.
