Trichome rate of change question

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Paulnewtogrowing, Oct 8, 2020.

  1. I’m curious as to the rate of trichome maturity in a flowering plant and what environmental And or soil conditions (if any) influence the rate of maturity. - thanks

  2. Just grow good plants. You already know the basic factors, a skilled grower is really the catalyst for mature trichomes.

  3. the rate of maturity is more time related so other factors do play a role its more time even for autos

    cheers

  4. Oky doky - age and strain I assume are the real drivers - I’m surprised temperature doesn’t influence it.

  5. I think the trics are a result rather than being an addition, trics do color with age most due to temp swings,IMO

  6. That makes sense - kinda like New England tree leaves that turn red

  7. agreed see it as the sap inside the plant stalls turning red its called Anthrocyline(or sumsuch)

happens to all plants getting cold ..lol

    maybe here: Purple petioles

  9. I think you are OK, but really is too soon ...avoid panic as its still oval not round ..lol

  10. Yeah potential issue is I won’t see her for about a week - if it is a pollen sac will it take longer than a week for it to mature?

  11. if you remove the likely male balls it will take a couple of weeks to grow back...?

but only if you are certain!

  12. Looks like a swollen calyx or pre-flower to me. You should be good.
