Tree top grow

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by kushnoj4849, Dec 26, 2015.

  1. Anyone have any experience with growing in the tree tops. Was going to try this out on some private land. Any downfalls and is it easy for choppers to spot em?

  2. Please.... if yer out on private land...Spread the plants out...
Think GORILLA grow if yer that paranoid...
    They need LIGHT and WATER....
Two things those trees are going to hinder...

    Just my too scents...

  3. i was planning on bringing in my own water. As far as light i am going to put them at the very top of the tree. I know of an open area in the woods.

  4. Oh i was only planning on putting 2 plants in, just growing enough for myself.

  5. Hmmm Then indoors might be a better controlled environment...
I use LED... But plenty of grows with CFL are out there...
    .
Here's some indoor buds...These are on "one" plant...
(There are other plants in the tent...)
I've been messing around with pictures every 5 daze...
The growth in 15 daze was pretty cool.

    Maybe my gallery shows something...?

  6. Nice buds. An indoor grow isn't possible at the time to be honest. I live with a bunch of sober sallies, hence why I'm turning to the tree tops. I've done outdoor grows on the floor it's just the trees are too dense here to allow a lot of light to the ground.

    Too Bad...
I see a lesson about to be learned the hard way...

  8. The lesson will be ingenuity and perseverance can make almost anything happen. Hopefully someone will chime in with some experience in tree tops @kushnoj.

  9. I think the down falls would be the fall down, plant, equipment, human. Be safe. Come down on your own terms, not gravities

  10. Well fellas I have a shit ton of pine trees and oak trees that should more than mask the heat signature and smell. I also have a lot of climbing equipment to secure myself to the tree. Yes, it would be nice to do an indoor grow or grow on the ground but that's not possible in my neck of the woods. Tree top is my only option as of now.

There's still going to be the trees canopy above them. Its not like you'll be able to put it at the highest point of a tree. So now you'll have to go chopping at the trees in a spot where there's foot traffic. Plus its just silly dangerous for a couple weed plants. Both physically dangerous and legally dangerous for a silly little amount of weed. Hate to break it to you but I really don't see this going well. Either 1 of your buddies will run his mouth about the mystical tree top grow or you'll fall and break your plant or worse yet, neck, leg, arm, etc. You have to way the risk/reward factor and its just not there for a couple plants man.
    Good luck

  12. Thanks man. Where I have em there will not be any foot traffic all traffic is towards the front of the property where it's all open. I'm in the middle of spider alley and thorn bush galore. Too many creepy crawlies and vegetation for anyone to want to crawl in.

  13. You said on you're other post there's foot traffic. Even just at the front of the property that's all it takes. There's reasons gorilla growers look for no foot traffic because they don't want caught. I know some are your friends but friends easily become snitches. Just be safe man and realistic.

  14. I appreciate your concern.

  15. I do have an open area that is semi overgrown but the top is completely open to the sun and there's no trees around for a good 20 yards.

  17. I see people get the idea to grow on trees a few times a year. Not one person I read has completed a grow or reach flowering using this method. Too much work for what you will get in return. Good luck with your endeavors.

  18. Are you just getting drums and screwing them to tree branches? Or are you going to build a small platform? Either way, you won't be able to take much soil up the tree will you so you'll have small containers. You said you only want to grow two plants. 2 plants in 2 small containers isn't going to produce very much mate. Especially if it's going to be a cunt to water them. If I were you I'd rethink my strategy.

  19. Once spring hits it rains every 2-3 days here. I was going to secure a mesh pot to the trunk of the tree with some 550 cord. As far as getting supplies up, I tied a swiss seat to myself and pull myself up into the tree with the supplies in my backpack on my back. As far as water, my grow spot is about 20 yards from a source where i can fill a bucket with a lid and hoist it up with me. Good thing about having 2 plants is they're both in one tree so i don't have to do it multiple times. Only looking to grow enough for myself. As long as i get 3 ozs I'll be more than happy.

  20. That's still a lot of work mate for 3 ounces. Your problem is insufficient lighting correct? Surely you would be able to find a spot even with a little sun and put in 20 plants. That way even if they yield fuck all due to little light you would still get your 3 oz because you've got so many in. That's what I would do if I was in your situation anyway.

Another way to increase your light penetration I have found is to kill trees. Get a drill and drill some holes into 5 trees or so. Then pour straight roundup into the holes straight away. Come back in a month or so and your tree will still be standing (instead of using a chainsaw and clearing an area which is drawing attention to yourself) but the leaves would of died leaving the tree skeleton behind and the sunlight will be able to pass through to your plants a lot easier.
