Is there any major difference in the ends of a tree perc? I've seen them just cut off and open or closed with a slit in the bottoms( both have slits up the side). How do they compare? Should this make me choose one bong over another if everything else is pretty much the same?
The changes between the perc styles is the amount of drag they add to the smoke Drag is refers to how fast or slow smoke climbs the chamber. Drag is also affected by the amount of glass it touches on the way to you. So the more perc's between you and the smoke, the more drag, reguardless of style because its just has through that much more glass, before it reaches you. When you have an open ended perc, it allows for more air flow when you do your final pull. When they are close it tends to slow down your ability to pull. So its more of a comfort factor Alot of people here hate drag, alot of people here dont care. So you have to see who you are. And if you havent owned either, its hard to tell the difference. Weedstar changed their entire line to have opened perc's based off of feed back from here.
Yeah there's a huge difference between the endings on tree percs. You can get them diffused or just open-ended. the diffused one will filter nicer and produce a shitload of little bubbles instead of big ones. depends on how smooth you want the hit to be. The tree percs with diffused arms are quite pricy, if you could afford it, then go for it
I haven't owned either. Just straight tubes. I'm thinking about just one tree perc and a diffused down stem, about 14-18" tall . And I guess, if that's not enough I can always change the down stem and add I AC. Anyone know much about Hitman bongs? A local headshop has them and they look pretty decent...actually better then most others in the area. Thanks for the help guys.
I would rather have a close ended Tree perc that is reinforced then a open ended one that isn't. But if its not reinforced then your right open ended for sure.
reinforced ftw. my vertigo 6 arm ashcatcher is like this. reinforced to the bottom diffuses great but only problem is the chunks get caught up in the trees since they cant fit out the slits.
I owned a closed bottom 6 arm a/c a while ago. I really liked it! It was a china piece so it was inexpensive, but it worked really well! However, Even though I havent hit a open ended tree perc before, Im sure they work much better than closed bottomed ones.
If the hitmans are disc percs like a torture chamber. Those are badass. The stemless with discs chug up some chalk
