The stem of my tree perc on my lux scientific bong broke today and I want to know if it is repairable. Compared to similar cases where the actual perc breaks I would think that mine would be slightly cheaper as a new perc is not required it would just need to be reattached. I understand that this would be difficult and expensive as they would have to open up the piece but I know its possible so I don't want you guys to tell me that or that I should get a new bong. I want to know roughly how much it would cost and how hard it would be to find someone that would do the job or if you actually know someone in particular that would do it. The bong costs about $230 dollars retail but realistically I'm prepared to pay only about $150 is this an unreasonable expectation for the repair? And I really don't want to buy a new piece as this piece is really important to me, it was passed down by my brother. Again please don't tell me to get a new piece that not useful I just want to know if its realistic that I could get this repaired for under $200.
It is possible that a kind hearted lamp worker might get in on that. Seems tricky, but it wouldn't hurt to see. Google "borosilicate glass repair" or some such text, find some folks who have the equipment and start sending emails with pictures attached. Thing is, it's gonna have to be in a state of like new cleanliness before anyone will work on it.
I think it might be easier and cheaper just to get a new one. I had a friend with the same problem and that's what they told him. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Grasscity Forum mobile app
