Traveling to Canada....advice?

  1. whats up blades...

I'm going to be going to Canada next week. I have no passport, a couple arrests (dui, mary jane possession). However, I have no convictions currently. I'm 18 years old. I will not be driving. Should I give up? Should I find out how to border hop? Seriously, I want to go no matter what it takes. What are my chances of just getting through the border with my liscence and birth certificate?

Any and ALL advice on how to SUCCESSFULLY get through is welcomed. Don't come here and tell me I'm a moron because I'm already quite aware of this. If you want to insult me or whatever... PM me.

    Thank you for your time.

  2. i don't think you need much info if your just driving across. Just don't get stoned before. If you want cheap really good weed then don't go to a town near the boarder or you'll probably get ripped off.

  3. You don't need a passport.

Do you have a Driver's License?

  4. After every sentence say "eh"

    What's up, eh?

    Good day, eh!

    You'll have no problem.

No, seriously you may want to cary papers that say you were not convicted.

I was arrested twice and charged with three offenses. I was convicted on only one of those offenses. Yet Canada only knew I was arrested, they didn't know the outcome of those arrests. I pleaded with them that I was not convicted. They said I would have to prove that to them before they let me in the country.

I was really happy to learn this after spending $500 to fly to Quebec City. Anyway, they took all my ID and my wife's passport and they let us stay one night at our bed & Breakfast but we had to be back at the airport at 12 noon or they would come and kick us out or worse.

Whatever, Quebec City is about the size of a small town, at least the part worth seeing, so we saw all we had to before we left.

But I have known friends who were denied entry because of DUI or possesion. It all depends how long ago it happened.

Also, if you don't have a passport, bring your driver's license and your birth certificate!

  5. check this link out http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/index.html . Hopefully it will be helpful to you. Border hopping is never a good idea especially after 9/11. Weed is easy to find in larger cities and is usually very good and not too expensive. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your visit. edit: A d/l and birth cert should be fine. Not sure about the arrests, you could also try calling a consulate in or near your area or the embassy in Washington D.C. for more info.

  6. how do you plan on going to canada? I went with my parents a while ago and we drove... didnt check any ids or anything

  7. Well I haven't been convicted since I haven't been to court. I'll bring my D/l and birth certificate and hope that's enough.

  8. and hope to hell they dont search you on your way back :)

  9. Going over to Canada is not a big deal (crossing into Canada).
Yet coming back from Canada they usually ask for your passport.
    I suggest getting this.

Otherwise if you can't get a passport bring a birth certificate, and drivers license.
Don't be fucked up (drunk/high) when crossing the border back into the states, act cool, calm, and normal.

  12. We went to canada a couple years back.. They didn't search our cars or anything... They were like "What do you plan on doing during your stay?".. we were like "Stay with some relatives for a couple days and then come back" and we got through...

  13. holy shit, you're an idiot whoever said "say eh after each sentence".. holy, even americans say that so what's the big fucking deal?

the best advice i can give you is don't eat yellow snow..
