  1. Hey grasscity, ive got some questions, but first- heres a pic of my current/first grow.

its all bagseed, the one in the party cup on the top-left is on day 23 , the rest are on day 14 . started in jiffy pellets, then into happy frog soil under cfls.
i have a grow journal going if you would like more details...heres the link

So, the happy frog soil is neutral ph and is not really a food for the plant (this is as far as i understand, please correct if im wrong) from what ive read it will be soon time to introduce fertilizer and nutes to the older plant (around 30 days right?) and it seems its also time to transplant. roots are starting to stick out of all the cups, the soil has become much tighter packed and absorbes the water much slower than before. Its only 1 or 2 root ends sticking out on most of the plants.
Should i transplant into the final container?
i still havent decided how i want to feed the plant or what kind of soil etc. i do have 25lbs of an organic all purpose plant food, the manufact. is Espoma. Its npk
is 5-3-3. Would this be useful? if not i can use it elsewhere.

This is a vertically challeged growing situation, so i plan on keeping these plants pretty small and using topping or Lst or Scrog to make the most of it.

My intial thinking is transplant soon into the same happy frog soil in 3 gallon square conatiners (if these exist) and finish the plants in that set up using liquid food for the plants, prob fox farm. What do you guys think? im open to any ideas here and the budget is somewhat a factor, i may not be able to buy a lot of stuff all at once, but i will spend what it takes to do this right. if youve got suggestions on containers and deciding on how to feed please let em fly. here are some close ups.

  2. They all look over waterd i would let them dry out for a few days, do they have holes in the bottom of the contanior? they should. other then that they look good i would transplant now into halfgallon contaniors

  3. yeah man droopiness for sure. but i would deff. transplant. I just did it with mine at day 27 and all my roots were bounded and it fucked with the plants i.e. droopiness! But now there happier than pigs in shit my freind!

  4. thanks for the advice guys,
im going to transplant them today. I have been battling this droopiness for a while, im not overwatering, i give em a little every 3rd or 4th day, and by then that soil is dry! so i checked to see if they were rootbound and omg it is ridiculous how bad some of them are, that is def. the cause of the drooping. after i transplant them this afternoon i will post some pics up of how bound up these roots are, . and then some pics of the new set up, gonna decide at the garden store what size i will transplant to, i really want something square so that its most efficient on space.

  5. Although you claim that they are not over watered, i still beleive by the looks of them that they are over watered!! You say you've been battling the droopiness for a while. Well, a while ago i would say that they were not root bound so badly they would droop. After plants suffer from over watering, it takes for ever for them to snap out of it!! For young seedlings the results of over watering can cause damping-off! This is something that your plants will never return from!! Make sure there are plenty of holes in the bottom, watch your relative humidity, and let your soil dry out before watering again. And when I say dry out I don't mean just the surface! I'm not saying that you are BS'ing us about not over watering, but I have been there and know what over watering does!! Your plants were over watered at some point, i'm 100% sure of it!!

  6. something vague
Yeah these plants were overwatered at first, i didnt realize it took so long for them to recover from that. initially i was watering every other day, the droopiness started occuring and i backed off to every 4th day, by then the soil was dry all the way to the bottom. good call on that! and thanks for the input

I will post up pics later this weekend of the how the transplant went, the ones that were more rootbound are not looking so good. thats only two though, the other nine are looking good, i ended up getting 6 inch round plastic containers, 34 cents each, i couldnt pass it up, really nice drainage holes and about 1/2 gallon volume.

Going to double the light output today:D
getting the standard light socket y-splitter guys and adding lights accordingly, this has become way more neccesary now that there is more distance between the plants in the larger pots.
    enjoy your weekend everyone!:smoking:
