Transplant question?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Pitt, May 8, 2003.

  1. Hey there...

a question... pretty simple one at that...

How long should I wait to transplant to a bigger 3 or 5 gallon pot?

The plant has 3 nodes, and its day 9 since it sprouted...

Should I go by height to know when to transplant?

    Thanxx

  2. Hey Pitt,

As soon as you can, the sooner the better and easier it will be.

What I do now is raise them in "peat pots" (wal-mart) and when the roots start poking out you can plant the whole thing in the soil.

  3. Hey Nikkidog...

check out these pics of the grow...

    im on day 9....
basically just wanna know if its time to transplant...

    and if its looking healthy...

  4. Looks pretty good, whats the size of the potter its in? As I said I would transplant as soon as possible I will only get harder as more roots grow.

    Rule of thumb.
1 Gal of soil per ft of growth.

I usually use 2-3 gallon containers

  5. Pitt,
Is that plant really on day 9?!?!?!?!

    If so, WO

    Skeeter!~

  6. Yup Day 9....

    I got one HPS 200w....
    2 CFL tubes @ 40w a piece
one more CFL spiral bulb @ 40w...

The potter its in is pretty small... just your standard pot for small plants... I got a big 5 gallon just waiting to be used...

How should I go about the transplant proccess??

    I was thinking...

Fill the big pot with the soil mix, and make a hole in the soil in the center...

Grab the pot the plant is in now, cut the sides and try to slide
plant with soil and all into the hole made in the bigger pot...

what do you think? is there other methods that are better??

  10. Damn! That's nice looking growth for 9 daze!

    Should be nice budz!

  11. Yep, run something along the inside of the planter and ease it out as carefully as possible.

  12. That looks pretty good ....Keep up the good work

  13. Transplant was a success....

I got some real flemsy cardboard, ran it along the inside...
and was able to pull the whole thing out....

from there I just placed it in the dirt...

    and all is good...

    Thanxx again man...

  14. u should find a way to get them Floro bulbs closer to the plant.. and keep that other light on top of the plant so it can grow up some.. if ur gonna use all floro keep them all as close as u can and get a bunch of high wat floro bulbs.. if not just use the HPS 250w is good for 1 plant.. im growing with 1 plant now and im using all floro, im in 12/12 now.

  15. how many weeks flowering? And how fast did she grow with the floros?

  16. this is my 1st week of flowering,, with in 4 days of flowering i could already tell the sex.... and when i started growing the plant it was outside, then i made a box and had like 7 floro bulbs in it/ also a floro work light called "Lights Of America" that pushes 500w... the plant shot straight up after that.. i just heard u dont get as much yeild... but like i said, the more light the better the weeed... save like 120 bucks and u can make a gooood set-up...

  17. Yeah I got those flouro bulbs closer now...

But now the temp. is kinda high... any ideas other than using fan to keep yhe temp down?...

Its ranging between 80 - 87 degrees all the time with all the bulbs closer to the plant...

  18. 9 days???????

    damn what u using...radioactive seeds?

    that looks like 3weeks +

  19. Well in my "keep it simple plan" thats not bad, Im pretty happy to operate in the low 80's.

  20. Update...

    Today is day 15....

two more nodes grew out.... after the transplant...
seems to be growing quite rapidly for some reason... shit.. I dont mind though....

Ill have some pics up tomorrow...

The first two leaves that grew... that are now way at the bottom have like some yellow stops towards the tips... any clue on to what this could be???

There is no yellow spots on any of the new growth....

I used ice in the potter, and let it melt... took like 5-10min to melt... giving the plant a sort of time release water system... also reduced the heat..as the fans blew the ice air around a bit while the ice what still solid.... also was able to increase the humidity just a tad with this method.... anyone every try this?
