Hey I'm new here and kinda new to growing but have a question I have a sour chem I believe in a 3gal fabric pot and it's been 6/7 weeks veg and I just switched the light cycle on 12/12 but it's over 32" tall and was wondering if I should transplant before any longer in flower stage it goes. I also have 2 other 3 gal white widow but are growing good.. any help or suggestions I appreciate thanks
3 gallons are no good unless you're running a sog ( sea of green ) technique where your plants wont be vegging long transplant asap My dirt is 35 dollars a bag using 7 gallons would be almost a half bag transplanting from 3 to 7s, when your plants will never fill 4 more gallons of soil in 10 to 12 weeks. Using 7 gallons are only needed if vegging for at least 3 months. You'll be fine in 5 gallons without wasting soil.
Depends what you are growing in, a 3 gallon pot is big enough if your growing in Coco, but in soil 3 gallon pots are also good for autos, but a photo in soil yes go to your 5 gallon planter bag if that's what you got, I would cut the 3 gallon planter bag off so you don't hurt the root system.
I disagree my spring is about to kick off deciding if I wanna run 8 or 12 autos. I run 3 to 4 auto runs of 8 to 12 plants a year growing them perpetually outdoors. Never are you gonna pull the same weight using a 3 over 5 gallon. As mentioned running 3 gallons is only good for alot of plants in a small space with a short veg time
i would have transplanted before i switched to flower doing it like you are will only cause trouble but you may as well do it now
Well my last auto run indoors in 5 gallon air pots, three plants aliens vs triangle 683 grams and I do very well in 3 pots also just look at some of my journals. Here's a auto in a 3 gallon air pot in coco only been flowering for 20 days in this picture.
I cant speak on growing in coco that's not what I was commenting on. You mentioned 3 gallons for soil autos are okay also cant comment on plant growth in those pots doubtful buddy is growing in expensive air pots as a newbie. I've grown in 3 gallons mine never got as big. 5 gallon is a smidgen too much but I've never had anything worth growing out of 3. The one in the pic shown is as big as my 5 gallons mine in 3 never stretched or brushed out that much. More so grew to the size of the 3 gallon vs growing to the size of the 5
Here's some of my small ones in 3 gallon planter bags, I usually average 8 zips per auto in 5 gallon air pots in promix and vermiculite with perlite and dolomite lime with a little gypsum.
Not talking bad but see that's small, not 5oz dry and cured. But this is more of what I was talking about.
Nice yea mine would never amount to that in a 3 for me and my ways Where do you get most of your beans? I've been using Pacific for 4 years. Finally broke out of it and got square one for the next fem run but I've been wondering that may play some part I've heard plenty about Pacific
Here's some of my autos in 5 gallon air pot, alien vs triangle, these three girls ended up with 683 cured when done.
No it was 5 oz dry and cured. but I was always planning on transplanting into the 5 gallon I think it flipped right after I topped it. Im putting next auto right into 5 gallon
All I have going on rn for autos. My own seed tho cotton candy kush ran them during winter temps bringing them in at night to see if a indica could pull through winter months extending my grows to year round. 5 gallon ocean forest dry amendments 7 weeks round about. So you could see my issue if they grew any smaller lol
That's how I growed my autos, start them off in pot I'm going to grow them in. But now trying Coco for my 2nd time need to start them in a one liter pot then transplant to 3 gallon air pot and feed 20 percent run off. Three times a day for me in the 3 gallon air pot.
Yea I transplant all my plants for me just easier. Plus using organic stuff it prolongs when I have to feed autos can go up to 2 months before I have to amend. For me growing was about saving money since dispensary weed was 300$ every 2 weeks. I've tried coco used too much nutrients and had to baby them too much for me personally haven't tried organic coco rather not, still have a storage tub full of coco from 2 years ago lol
