I have started my first grow as of yesterday. Right now I have a few seeds germinating. Here's the deal. I'm on a shoestring budget until payday (this Friday). Ultimately, I want to grow in a good quality soil, something like a Fox Farm or equivalent. However, I can't afford a bag of FF until Friday. So if, best case scenario, the root tips pop out before Friday, I've got to get them into solo cups before Friday and will only be able to afford a cheaper bag of soil. How detrimental is it to a young plant to transfer into a different soil? If I was forced to initially plant these in a cheaper soil, I would like to transfer to a better soil when I transfer from the solo cups to bigger pots. Is this bad? Or do I just need to make sure the two soils have the same NPK ratio? Thanks for any advice.
