Hey, I live in Ohio and winter is on it's way, so I need to know if I was to start a few plants over winter inside and planted them outside when daily temps are about 75F would it go into shock and die? also I have a very nooblike question, when you sprout a seed the root is the first to break through correct? see I was almost positive this is true until I seen my budie plant that root facing up in the soil and it successfully grew! he is drying it as we speak, wtf I mean I do plant it facing down in the soil right?!
it will only shock them a little bit because your plants will have to adjust to the uv out in the sun. but theyll have such a head start anyways if they get stunted for a little bit it wont matter. since your gonna start them indoor you might as well pre sex inside and take clones of the females so the only plants you will be planting outdoors are females. make sure the clones are rooted nicely before putting outside of course.
bud your growing indoors for the winter which equals 3 months, why not just do the whole grow inside and have weed for the spring and summer, then you can start a new batch and have an outdoor grow.
I've no clue how to clone nor what it is same with sexing, all I know is how to grow it dry it and smoke it, anywayse can't grow indoor because of some peaple in this household, I currently have a sprouted seed in some soil and am hoping to have a place spotted in this house to put it when it is about 2 ft tall, it tok an entire 3 weeks just to get the root out of the shell so I don't think it would take 3 months for this thing to be finished, I don't see any stickies on cloning, detail explenation would be much apreaciated. I'm not sure if sexing is the term for removing males, if it is I can do that! lol
just search cloning i know theres a few threads on here. but yea pre sexing is just switchin the lights back to 12/12 after there a few weeks old and then once all the plants have shown its sex and you pull the males you put back on 18/6 or 24/7 to put them back into veg
there is a chance your sprout could be male, we want ladies. You have lots of time before next season maybe look around for a a strain or two, order a couple of packs and grow them indoors until it's time to plant outdoors. Heck you don't have to start now. Order some seeds, wait until next year before you germinate. Lots of time to do some reading. Sex them indoors and plant only the females after the last frost. It's actually a good idea but you don't have to start for a couple of months. shop around for something you like. Read up some more. You'll have potent monsters by harvest.
seriously, if your planning on transfering them from inside to the outside, only keep them inside for a month, which means starting them april time frame, cause bottom line is outside there not going to flower until fall. That means your veg period will be 4-5 months. Are you aware of how large a properly cared for plant will get in that time. Now lets cover a good germination and veg growth/time, because that is a damn long time for a seed to germinate, I'll bet your soil was to dry. A. From the time I start to germinate to the seedling popping through to the light is only 5 days. 12hrs soak in water, 24-48hrs wet paper towel, root sprouts, and another 48hrs till she pops, end of germination. B. vegging - end of week 1 3-4 sets of leaves - week 2 - 3-8 sets of leaves, your plant is now 6-8" tall. Week 3 plant reaches 12" do I switch to flower or wait a week. he has enough time to do both. if he already has the seeds to do a little indoor grow like 2-4 plants with two plants you should get alteast 1 female. it all depends on what you want to do. the bigger the plant you put out in march (or whenever you plant them outside) the bigger the plant will be at the end of the season when it comes time to harvest. so start some plants now if you can to harvest indoors. and then around the beginning of december start the ones your gonna put outside in spring edit- chimera made a good point. start the outdoors in december inside if your gonna pre sex and clone them (cause it takes longer) or start seeds in april. cause in a normal season about 5-6 months long will get you 5-6' plants pretty easy. so if you start with a 2' plant in april youll have a monster in september
