Tragically Hip - Question for Americans!

    I went to Tragically Hip 2 months ago having absolutely no clue who they were, after the concert I stayed at a camp site where people played the Hip all week, it was like I knew every song within a day and ever since they've become my second to Radiohead band to get high to. I went again to see them at Osheaga in Montreal, they're so good live.

    Anyways, Canadians and critics claim that Americans have no idea who Tragically Hip is, true or false??

    Love the Hip man, one of the first bands I saw live. Gord Downie is still one of the best frontmen I've ever seen.

    lmao...i left the first video playing in the background while browsing GC. I just hear a gutair and the guy rambling but I tune it out.... I come back to the video just as its ending and hear "and I had a dream i took a bath in coconut cream!"

    I know them, I'm willing to bet most dont though but they did have their 7 and a half minutes of fame in the States at one point.

    i grew up listening to the hip, my parents are big fans and thus.. my entire family is, haha. they fuckin rule, gord is such an energetic frontman. i've had the chance to see them a few times, most memorable being at rocks the park in london a few summers ago.. maybe it's cuz i was triple fisting cups of brew all night, maybe it's cuz i smoked a few blunts but none the less it was fucking amazing.

    the hip is such an essential summer listening band, soo many memories of the cottage ahnd camping associated with these dudes.

    The Hip are fucking great man. Definitely one of my favorite bands.
