tote or five gallon for aeroponics

  1. I am starting an aeroponic set-up. I will be on a 2 week veg + 8-11 flower time, should i use 5 gallon buckets or totes? Not sure how big the root-ball will end up getting. Debating more smaller plants or do as many 5 gallon buckets I can get under my lights.

  2. Just my thoughts, I would recommend 5 gallon buckets. Several advantages. Much larger plants and better yields. Easy to pull a pound off longer flowering plants like that. Also independent reservoirs means if you ever have an issue like root funguses then they only affect one plant and are easier to treat. Also if you grow several plants close together you generally have to grow the same plants on the same flowering time or can only vary with plants of the same needs. If you go individual, then you can better mix strains and still meet the individual needs of the plants.
