Hey Grasscity forums. I wanted to task you the total costs of growing weed. First I must ask for some help at buying some cannabis seeds, I've found lots of websites but I am a Mexican and I'm not sure about the sending costs. Secondly I wanted to ask you if you really need to use those expencive techniques I've read in here (get lights a specialized room, etc...) Can someone help me? Awesome forum by the way.
I mean, you can spend anywhere from basically nothing to tens of thousands of dollars or whatever your currency may be. If you're going to grow indoor, you'll have to spend a lot more money. The MOST important aspect of growing high quality marijuana is the environment of your grow room. If you have a poor environment, you'll grow poor marijuana. Buying HID lights isn't the only way, but it is one of the best. If you settle for florescent lights, you'll definitely see a loss in yield. Google ''How to grow marijuana''. It should give you a bunch of results that are really informative. Also, throw the word indoor at the end if you're going to grow indoor. There are tons of resources on growing this wonderfully illegal plant.
I spent two hundred to build a room Five hundred or six hundred on lighting. About another two hundo on seeds Fifty bucks on buckets Two hundred on nutes, promix, perlite, worm castings, my bottled organic nutes were seventy for the two bottles I spent a couple grand all together but I could have started off easy spending three hundo on a six hps lamp and a hundo on seeds then started. Five hundred and your good to go. Unless you use CFCs. Much cheaper I think
When I first started I spent $100 for my grow tent and about $150 for my 600 watt light and maybe $100 on my first seed order. Then about $50 on fox farm nutes, and another $50 for a few pots and dirt. Then when I built my room in the garage it cost a little over $1,000 for materials and another light. It really does depend how much you want to spend on the hobby man. Good luck
Thank you all! I am now reading more about this beautifull plant. But still it's quite expensive to grow it. I Have about 50-90 dollars to spend and maybe I could get some friends to give some money too. I'll try getting some autoflowering feminized seeds and I'll try to grow some outdoors (since 500-1000$ dollars it's a little bit more that I can spend). Thank you again. Don't give up that easy. If you are even remotely resourceful you can run a budget box indoors. Most materials can be gathered from leftovers or even Craigslist in the free section. Depending on location you can spend for seed or chance bag seed to begin. Lights are hard to skimp on, but given the right setup a string of 65w CFLs are cheap and moderately effective. A good nutrient line is probably the hardest to get around spending, but a 3-stage from GH is $35ish. Seriously if you put your mind to it (and set proper expectations) you can easily rig something for under $100. Just don't expect HighTimes type of bud porn. -FragileBob
I've spent about $50. That was because I had some of my lights, nutes and light fixtures already laying around or given to me. I manly just spent money on the bulbs and a timer.
