Ok so I'm in my 2nd grow using ffof soil and just have a few questions about what I should do. I have 3 strains All purchased from advanced seeds and and currently vegging under 1 400 watt mh lamp 24hrs Black Diesel Pineapple express Tangerine dream I have them in small pots (approximately 3 pint pots) but need to transplant to the 5 gallon pots prior to placing the screen over them. Also, yesterday I topped them (for the 1st time) they also just showed signs of sex and all are females. blaze Need to know; 1. Is it wise to top,transplant, and start the scrog process in the same week without the plants going under too much stress? (plants are currently 2" below the the screen if I were to place the screen over now. 2. Also, you can only top a plant once, correct? 3. My screen is 18" from the ground, which would give exactly 8" of space from soil to screen. Can I still place the screen over the plants if they are already taller than the screen? I figured this is the worse case scenario if I have to wait for the plants to recover from topping and transplanting. Let me know if anyone has ran into an issue like this. Advice would be grateful
You should be fine, top em, transplant em, and put the screen over. You can top as many times as you want but from what I hear you shouldnt top within a week or 2 of flowering. With my scrog I also have the screen 8 inches above the top of the soil, just keep the tops even as it's growing thru the screen.
