  1. 1. Should i bother topping if growing outdoors?
    2. When exactly do i top?
    3. How often do I top? or is once enough
    4. Does topping affect flavor of buds and better them or does it just create more buds? Does it affect size of buds as well?
    5. Does size of plant matter when topping? Mine is growing it's 3rd/4th node already but fairly small

  2. 1. idk, I top all my plants (or at least train).
    2. I top when 3rd node shows up. Others as late as 6th or 7th. Depend what you want to achieve.
    3. I top once, then wait for some vegetative growth. Sometimes its all you need, sometimes you want more, but I do it later so not to shock the plant and slow its growth.
    4. Maybe. Stresses like insect invasion and plant harming (cutting/topping) induce trichome formation. More trichomes generally means more cannabinoids and terpenes.
    5. Not really, but I wouldn't be pruning a stressed out plant.

Here is a comprehensive guide to training.
And here is an example of my training. Those plants produced ~1lb of bud later on.

  3. At 4th

  4. Yeah, top the 4th node off mate. Basically turns you 1 main cola into 6 or 8 mains that are all a little smaller than the original one would've been.
Then tie them down again once they grow up a bit.
If you let the branches grow 3 nodes in between tying down then you multiply the number of colas by 3.
Do that a few times or till your happy then let her stretch up. Doesn't take long to get over a hundred colas like. Too early for maths but 8 weeks roughly.

  5. Oh and training makes no difference in flavour, if anything it will improve it as the plant is in a more equal frame.
Buds will all be full size as long as you stop training before the pre flower stretch.
If you train during the pre flower stretch you will multiply the amount of buds expinentially but they'll all be a lot lot smaller.
Because your using the sun as a grow light your best to stop before the stretch.
Most indoors guys tend to do it once or twice during the stretch so we get better penetration from the lights but you don't need to worry about that.

  6. i don't plan on training LST wise by tying down tbh i don't have that kind of room it's a stealth grow at home plus our garden is heavily over packed with plants.

as far as topping though is their such thing as TOO EARLY? you guys say to top at the 4th node but problem is my plant is small in size for it's age and imo growth.

I was also wondering as well when you guys say 4th node you are including the 1st set of leaves right ( not the cotelydons but the set after those )
