  2. Autos grow out bushy like they were topped, even if you don't top them.
The only reason I can think of for topping them is to retard their upward growth and force them to grow out roots.

Are you planning on growing in soil or water?

  3. I top all my autos , LST to broaden them
    Top at 3rd node

If done right you will experience zero delay in growth . [IMG][IMG]

  4. If you're not trying to delay its growth, why top an autoflower at all?

  6. Makes the side and lower branches develop better ,

If you don't top or LST it will grow a single rocket bud and the sides will all fluff out

  7. You would think they could breed that trait into em.

  8. I'm pretty sure you can still get solid side buds if you prune from the bottom up, rather than topping, but it's useful advice. I'll give it a try next time around!

Breeding autos is substantially harder than photos. Every single seed is like a tiny miracle.

  9. Is that why everyones happy when they bud.

  10. Wether or not you can top autos depends mostly on what you’re growing and how.
Like if you top a small, fast finishing auto in a 3gal pot of soil then you won’t yield much.
Do it to a large auto in hydro though and you’re laughing.
There’s also a knack in the timing if you don’t wanna slow them down . Personally if the 4th node is forming by day 17 I’ll take it then. If it’s still popping the third node at that point I won’t top it. Not growing fast enough to power through it.

it’s one of these things you just have to play about with though and see for yourself.
there’s lots of people argue you should never top them but there’s just as many like myself who prefer it.

  11. Here there’s a thing by the way, how the fuck do they do that? You don’t get male autos? You gotta hermie one of em?

  12. In my experience the transplant is the hit or miss when it comes to delayed growth
    Topping i have no issues
But repotting like i said its hit or miss .

  13. I've never done breeding, but I'm fairly sure the commercial auto seeds are from self-pollinated hermaphroditic females. It's surely the most reliable way to produce seeds that are true to parentage.

  14. I've gotten a few seeds off autos ,
Had a purple power herm and spit pollen on a northern lights auto and a master kush auto

When i plant them I'm hoping to see purple buds on all strains
Got 5 seeds off the NL
And 3 off the master .
If they male out i may grow and collect pollen .

  15. Another thing why i like growing autos ,
    Like forest gump says ,
"Autoflower are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get "
Or maybe that was life ? Huh .

If i want uniform grows everytime
    I would grow clones

  16. The very first auto I ever germinated had three cotyledons, instead of two. Every node also has three fan leaves. To date, it's the only pot plant I've ever met like that.

  17. Autoflower are definitely imperfect.
    The phenotype range is unlimited
That's what draws me to them

  18. Her leaves are thinner than other cannabis plants I have grown, and she required more pruning when flowering because of the extra set of branches throughout.
    But she is perfect.
