1) the texas chainsaw massacre (original. movie is the best) 2) the silence of the lambs (movie will always give me the creeps) 3) friday the 13th (mrs. voorhees was the best) 4) halloween (the rob zombie version shits on original) 5) audition (that dude who pops out the bag freaked me out) what are yours?
1) The Shining 2) Halloween 3) In The Mouth of Madness 4) The Innocents 5) Session 9 Nothing comes close to being as good as The Shining for me personally. And I respectfully disagree on Zombie's Halloween being better than Carpenter's.
i love meyers' back story. seeing the night when he killed his family was awesome. you truly got to see why he is as tormented and evil as he is. the shining isn't that scary to me. the book is better than the movie and i think the remake of the shining with steven weber is better than the movie, more like the book.
1. Halloween (1978) 2. Psycho (1960) 3. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 4. Night of the Living Dead 5. Dawn of the Dead (1978) Michael Myers scared the shit out of me as a kid. And when you see his face it freaked me out how normal he looked - other than his eye being fucked up from the hanger. And the beginning where it's just a 6-year-old killing his sister.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you again. I think that leaving Meyer's backstory untold gives it more of a mysteriousness to Meyer that I find creepy. And the shining isn't really scary, but the atmosphere of the movie gives it an eeriness and makes it feel like you are actually there. I like Kubrick's interpretation more than King's, but I did find that room 217 scene in King's version one of the scariest scenes I've ever seen.
i hated uh-huh. the animal bushes coming to life was cool. i like being able to know why he bcame the monster he did. leaving it up to your imagination in most cases with anything is annoying. i like to know why things happen instead of thinking of possible reasons and events that happened.
Horror movies stoned are really tense, especially with good scores ALIEN The Thing The Exorcist The Shining Event Horizon - An obscure one but fun stoned cause its mental, the ship is evil!!!
I've been trying to watch some more scary movie watching the Hills Have Eyes tonight. But as of now 1. The Devils Rejects 2. Halloween 3. second Friday The 13th 4. Cannibal Holocaust 5. Nights In Rodanthe
1. Dawn of the Dead (1978) 2. Zombi 2 3. Return of the Living Dead 4. Night of the Living Dead (1968) 5. REC For 3, that's only if you wanna take it as a serious horror movie, but it's so lighthearted that I never really considered it in the same area as the others.
1 night of the living dead 2 evil dead 3 the shining 4 dawn of the dead (original, fuck that zach snyder shit) 5 army of darkness (not sure if it counts, but i love that movie)
