took a sample

  1. took a sample today. just 2 lil buds in the back that were premature. they werent gonna amount to much and i shoulda have clipped the branches anyways when i lsted it. the hairs where still mostly white but the crystals were all cloudy with a few clear. anyways i just threw them in the toaster oven on the lowest setting i could. the temps were only 110-130. damn those 2 lil buds took over an hour to dry and after i rolled it. it was still a bit moist. so i tossed it back in for another 10 minnutes, still moist. the lil bit that did burn tasted decent but i ended up putting it in the microwave for like 25 secs and the damn joint lit up in the microwave! it didnt taste as good as before but was still alright i guess. anyways i got decently backed for it being premature bud and im very excited about what itll be like in a few more weeks of growth and a good dry/cure. looks like my first attempt will be succesfull :smoking:

  2. cool mana, Im thinkin of doing that instead im going to slow dry it for a few days..

  3. small oven/toaster to 130 degrees , time depends on size of bud, usually ten minutes or so. beats the hell out of a microwave. microwave kills the taste and some thc.

    broken branch = oven
    cant wait = oven
    just curious = oven

  4. Yeah I accidentally brushed one of my plants today and a small branch fell off. Gonna slow dry it and have me a little smoke :)

  5. Are you mad thats gotts crisp the hell outta your buds, I use the back of my CRT monitor, OK it takes all afternoon to dry the bud but its worth waiting that bit longer

  6. Who is this madman determined to destroy months of work??

  7. the toaster oven didnt crisp my buds. i left the leaves on the stem/ bud and at the lowest setting i had it on (no number) my digi thermo read only 120f when i left it in there for 10 minnutes. the leaves got crisp and the stem got shrunnk but the bud stayed moist still, and this was having it in there for over an hour turning it every 3 minnutes. not saying its a good method but the buds were small and i was bored and i just wanted to see for myself. the 2 buds were enough for one decent joint. and the other branches on the same node level are like 2' long and these were only 5 inches long. if it was good bud that broke off i would have slow dried it

  8. slow dry is allways best, but in the microwave thc can be fried, ( can be ). a microwave heats up the resin to a point that can kill the thc. the tast of a quick dry is harsh but i believe that it is better than the micro.

  9. for what ever reason, I decided to take a small sample, I was wondering if I put the bud on top of my volcano in a small aluminum foil plate that would cover the top of my volcano would this be sufficient for drying it fast? (1-2 hours?) im wanting to have a taste test tonite ^^ so please lmk asap. people have said doing this same process with a laptop/monitor/micro oven ect, just wondering, would the volcano on a low temp be a good idea to dry it w/? and since I will be vaping it, taste / harshness shouldnt be a problem, Im just concerned that it'll not be dry enough.

  10. I just thought about how cool it would be to be snotty enough to dry your weed in the cone of a volcano. YOUR own personal volcano. Hahahahaha!
