TOO TALL - 600w hydro

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Sublevel, May 18, 2010.

  1. Details are as follows: 4x4x6 ft. grow box, 4 clones in bubble buckets, 600w HPS bulb, 200 cfm fan w/ carbon filter, and lots of mylar.

Heres my issue: The ladies are now in week 3 of flowering (12/12 light cycle) and their vertical growth is still pretty vigorous. Buds are beginning to form at nodes and swelling. Being that we have an HPS bulb, i'm afraid of them getting burned. They've got about another 1.5 to 2 ft. of growth space, but thats it. Any suggestion for avoiding such a scenario?

  2. Sup sub. That's where planning comes in, if you have or get a vented grow hood on your 600w (duct pulling hot air out) Then you could lower the light, give them all the light they desire, avoid burning, and stop them from reaching. Hope this helps! =)

  3. Saleen threw ya some good advice. Also you could try tying them down a little (being careful) every little bend down will help.

  4. Being that you are in week 3 of flowering your plant will most likely stop growing up and concentrate on growing the buds...If all else fails the other 2 suggestions are your sollutions. Good Luck.

  5. Thanks guys!
